Re: Alexis Sánchez is a Gooner

Has anyone got any ideas for chants for Sanchez yet? I can't find any of this thread. Would like to include one or two in the first issue of the season.

Re: To Users of the Forum...

I wondered whether this subject would come up again. I'm not going to go over old ground but The Gooner, the Online Gooner and the forum are intended for ALL fans of Arsenal and some take offence more easily than others. All we tried to do was draw some lines in the sand so that more people could en...

I tried to access it from work and got this message: Based on your corporate access policies, this web site ( http://www.footballtshirtuk.com/Arsenal-Shirt.html ) has been blocked because it has been determined by Web Reputation Filters to be a security threat to your computer or the corporate netwo...

Re: Questions for Kevin Richardson

Some great questions already folks. Thanks very much. We're not sure whether the interview will take place in time for the next issue or whether it will be done over the summer yet, so keep them coming and we'll be sure to let you know when you can read the answers.

Questions for Kevin Richardson

Following on from the interview with Chris Whyte in the current issue of The Gooner, we are hoping to interview 80s midfielder Kevin Richardson next.

Please post any questions you'd like posed to Kevin here and we'll do our best to get some answers.

Re: Questions for Chris Whyte

Ask him if he had his toes broken to fit his boots better! Eh? Is that a serious question? Did you hear a rumour he had? Some context would be good. Would love to hear what Chris had to say about that 'stint' as a striker. Thought it was more than 1 game Only the Villa game where he got the winner ...

He had a couple I think. I remember him as "Chalky Whyte" which was probably a sign of the times, but he was also known as "Huggy Bear" I think after the character in Starsky and Hutch.

Thanks for those received so far. We'll do our best to ask them all.

The interview will take place later this week, so keep them coming.

Questions for Chris Whyte

Whenever we ask readers what they'd like to see more of in The Gooner, the top answer is nearly always interviews with ex-players which unfortunately are far harder to arrange than people may imagine. However, we've lined up one with Chris Whyte which fans of a certain vintage will know was an Arsen...

Re: How old is the Gooner fanzine

As Basil correctly said, 25 years old last October. Still hoping to make it to 26, 27, 28... City Gent was one of the original breed of fanzines in the mid-late 80s. Definitely out before The Gooner. When we started, all the fanzines used to get laid out on the floor of the old Sportspages bookshop ...

Re: Greatest Missed Penalties

In 1977 I tore up a copy of SHOOT with Alan Ball in it because he missed a pen against QPR in a League Cup Quarter Final. That's a great one. Don't remember the incident myself, but feel sure I'd have reacted in a similar way. Seems that most of you prefer to concentrate on the penalties WE'VE miss...

Greatest Missed Penalties

In the new issue of The Gooner which is out this weekend and available from our online store , I've written an article about my favourite missed penalties, which it won't surprise you to learn are all against Arsenal. However, I'll let you in on a secret. I nearly missed out a really obvious one - t...

Re: It's 'Give Us a Chant' Time Again

Any more ideas for a Jack Wilshere song. Agree with HJ that it's reflects badly we don't have a decent song for him, so want to try to publicise a couple in the next issue. Ideas required today though!

Re: Songs at OT

In general our fans were terrific again at OT and as someone has pointed out, they deserve so much better. However, some of the songs directed at our former player crossed the line in my opinion. I don't believe we can complain about some of the songs sung at our manager over the years if we're then...

Re: RVP Saturday sing song

So when he plays for us, he's not a rapist - but when he don't, he is? Song's a load of bollox and makes us look fucking divvy imo. Agree with this. There's not many football chants that "wind me up" as it were but this is one of them. Not a fan. Also I've just seen someone on twitter pro...
