Re: WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

Yes thanks for pointing out the bleedin obvious, DB10. I'm sick and tired of Wally's relaxed air of complacency, jogging around, puffing his cheeks out when he nearly gets a cross into the penalty area, like 'it almost all clicked into place then and the world would have woken up to my staggering ta...

Re: WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

This will definitely be the year Walcott steps up. This is the strongest team he's been involved in - the kind of team his talent richly deserves. He's learnt so much over the past few years and the timing of his runs is absolutely first class. He's very, VERY quick and this makes him a nightmare to...

Re: THE WENGER THREAD

An almost unimprovable opening sentence to an 'article' on a blog called Arsereview entitled 'Why I still support Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager.' I think this sentence should be etched in stone somewhere next to a statue of Theo Walcott celebrating in the Newcastle dressing room when we came 4th ...

Re: WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

I love these stories about how Wally is wanted by the biggest clubs around and by the best managers. They're clearly planted in the press by his hard-working PR team. Is there a better PR team working for a worse footballer in the world today? Well done Wally. This player is symptomatic of Wenger's ...

Re: WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

The problem with some of these players is, they've gone beyond parody. At least Walcott won't say anything this week about 'we've turned a corner/we need to step up now/this is our year/this is the squad I've been waiting for/people forget how young I am' - and my own personal favourite: ‘Once the t...

Re: WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

Walcott might be good in that new over 50s craze, Walking Football. Because he has a lot of pace he would be able to zip in behind the back four and bear down on the opposition goalie and perhaps get a shot on goal. I say MIGHT be good because it would be wrong to pile too much pressure onto him at ...

Re: WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

Thought he looked really lively when he came on today vs Palace. They were terrified of his pace and his runs were INCREDIBLY intelligent and well-timed. You can't teach that. He's a very bright lad and you can see that when he makes his runs in behind. He's developing really well - it's vital we ke...

Re: THE WENGER THREAD

Same as last week against Watford when Ozil and someone else played about 6 one-twos in a row. Taking the piss. Podolski did exactly the same thing a couple of years back in the champs league. Loser mentality all the way...

Re: THE WENGER THREAD

The substitution of Ox instead of Arshavin was indeed his worst ever sub, but I was there and remember distinctly the main reason for the fans' ire was also because he wasn't taking off a player who was having an absolute nightmare. His name? Theo Walcott. How times have changed!!

Re: Arsenal at Old Shatford. sunday 28th Feb. 2.05pm

Thought Walcott looked really dangerous against Utd today. Some of his running was extremely intelligent - he has great spacial awareness and constantly worries defenders because of his pace. One of these days he's going to come good and touch the ball.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD

“I felt on the day [in December] we did not have the mental energy. We put a lot in. It was Christmas, we always go to Southampton at the Christmas period. We got caught by a team that was full of desire.” Fair enough - it was CHRISTMAS!!! Champions always lose at Christmas. I mean, after all, it's ...
