Re: Jack Wilshere: Over-Rated?
Jack follows the typical English progression, ala Michael Owen 1. Get noticed at young age 2. Have series of good club performances 3. Be hailed as England's great savior, centre of media cirus 4. Play 12-months-a-year balancing club duties with being overused by a series of failing England managers...

Re: Abou Diaby - Injuries Thread
A sad story really. I've advocated for Diaby to go for a long time, as it's expensive to carry a player, and from a business perspective that is still sound, rationale advice. The cynic in me sometimes wonders, would he have been better served by a fitness/physio regime other than the one(s) provide...

Re: The Mesut Özil Thread
North America is very big on analyitics these days, but it doesn't seem to have the same clout over in the UK. Ozil is one of those rare players who is difficult to defend - when the team plays poorly, it's easy to spot his failings, and when the team does well, it's often with Ozil contributing in ...

Re: Arsenal 2015 - 2016 3rd Kit "Inspired by Ronnie Corbett"
One certainty about ‘leaked’ images of an unreleased kit is that while they may not be completely accurate, the designs are often very similar to the final version. Nonsense. The amount of "leaks" is staggering and are often very, very wrong. I don't think there's anything to be feared fr...

This has certainly spread, I know a few Arsenal pubs here in Canada are doing a 56th minute stand & applause. Glad to see these souls getting some remembrance too.

Re: Frimpong has been released by Barnsley
Interesting takes from Quartz and the rest. I think young players deserve some leeway, I mean sometimes we're pretty hard on these guys who are just kids really (one example was JW being caught smoking). But there's limits, and Frimpong seemingly grew tiresome for these clubs. He really did look the...

Re: Transfer flops of the season so far
I think a player who gets little playing time can't really be fairly called a flop, unless their lack of playing time is a result of lack of quality. So, I'd take Lamela and Jovetic and lower them on the list. Ozil hasn't been 42m of value but he's improved the team around him and has great potentia...

Re: Bergkamp statue
Yeah I'm pretty disappointed with the statue, the legend himself deserved a little better.
If I were to choose the next statue:
-Ian Wright
-Rocky Rocastle (with the thumbs up pose)
-Pat Rice

Pft, Celtic are playing in a league where the teams barely fight back. Hardly worth bragging about.

Re: Cost of kids local football....outrageous
Wow, that is some outrageous pricing. It's obviously not pegged to the market either because the demand for grassroots football in the UK has been declining for a while, from what I've been reading. Our men's team here (similar to a pub team) pays 1700 GBP to play in heated, boarded indoor facilitie...
