Re: Chav ringpieces A Tue 21st KO 815pm

If Arteta wants to show that we’ve made progress, this is exactly the sort of game to do it in.

They aren’t brilliant but this is exactly the sort of game that we haven’t been getting results in for donkeys years.

Re: other matches this weekend

Salah is just like Bale. Strong as an ox when he needs to be (no chance of him throwing himself to the ground at being brushed against for that second goal) but gets blown over by the wind when it suits him. Managed to ensure he got his token dive in with a theatrical fall against Matic. Free-kick r...

Re: other matches this weekend

Ruh roh - delli ali had a big temper tantrum at the special one today.

It seems not all is harmonious at the toilet bowl.
The mask has slipped very quickly.

Record time for him.

Re: Sheffield United|Home|PL|Saturday 18th January|3pm KO

I have no problems admitting we have a few players who like a dive. Pepe and Lacazette amongst them.

This was absolutely not one of those cases.

Literally not an exaggeration to say it was absolutely stonewall.

Re: VAR

How was Pepe’s penalty not given? Mane or Salah get breathed on and VAR won’t think of overturning a penalty at Anfield. See crucial last minute penalty to win game at home against Leicester as case in point. This is why it will never work. Even ignoring the pitch side monitor nonsense and the slant...

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Had one superb game against Burnley at home which - notwithstanding the poor opposition - was the most accomplished midfield display I’ve seen from a midfielder of ours in years.

Had a few tough games.

Has he been fit since September???

Re: VAR

Aubameyang red card upheld..Three game ban stands.
Big surprise there!
What were we expecting to achieve?

They are reticent to overturn decisions when they’re blatantly wrong, never mind when they’re right!

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Barcelona signed Mike van Beijnen on the same day as Frenkie de Jong (75m euros). Bizarrely van Beijnen was given a 100m euros buyout clause - however he only managed 8 appearances as an unused sub for Barca B team before being sold to a no-mark Turkish side.

Can anybody guess what his dad does?

100% would have taken the same decision.

That’s some mighty fine work.

Re: VAR

Amusing to see Sky saying nothing about City fans chanting “FUCK VAR” repeatedly. Any other time there is half a suggestion that people at home might be able to discern a swear word, they feel the need to “apologise to the viewers at home if they might have heard some colourful language”. The word f...

Re: Palace (A) PL 11/01 @ 12:30

Xhaka looks like less of a car crash alongside Torreira because Arteta has clearly decided that Torreira is the one that should be dropping in to get the ball off the defenders. Not a bad idea to stop Xhaka getting the ball under pressure, although nowhere near as good an idea as selling him.

Re: Palace (A) PL 11/01 @ 12:30

The issue with that logic being that nobody with half a fucking brain views Xhaka as key to our system. The guy would get into very few if any other PL teams. He is an absolute carthorse, gives possession away in dangerous areas more than any player I’ve ever seen, walking yellow card, useless going...
