It follows a chap, Tim Parks, who lives in Verona and decides to write about his experiences of following Verona home and away for a whole Serie A season. It gives an incite int...

Arsenal/football-related books

Been getting into reading quite a few football-related books recently and did a review of one book on Arsenal 'The Wenger Code' on my blog- http://www.schoolofgooner.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/gooner-book-review-wenger-code.html Wondering if any of you guys have any recommendations of football-related b...

Re: Do you want Luis Suarez?

There's no doubt Suarez is a world class player, but his attitude is far from world class. The amount of games he missed due to suspension make him a total liability and really mean that he isn't worth more than £20m to a club. Given how we pride ourselves on taking the moral high ground on many iss...

Re: F*&k Off Laurent Koscielny

Reckon Kos will stck around a bit but its a warning. Really dont think hes good enough for some of the clubs that hes reported to be linked with (Barcelona?!) On his day he can be one of the best defenders in the PL, but hes to inconsistent and can still have ays when hes absoloutely awful. ...

Re: the Wimbledon Thread

Verdasco is the first player murray has played with the weapons to punish him for not doing enough with his groundstrokes and for most of the match thats what he did. Murray will need to step inside the baseline and take the game to Djokovic if wants to win, which will be tough because Novak simply ...

Re: WE'VE GOT HIM....

Sounds like hes worth the risk since hes arriving on a free. With his undoubted talent and potential he could be the next Henry or Anelka but with his injury record- which is why hes coming on a free- he could be the next Diaby, but I'll give him a chance

Re: the Wimbledon Thread

Its Murray's time this year. He'll beat Djokovic in 5 sets with the crowd carrying him over the line. Lisicki has the powerful game that is suited to grass and will win the womens' over Bartoli in the final. Pleased to say that I tipped Verdasco to go far as soon as Nadal, Roger and Tsonga crashed o...

Re: Half Year Financial Results

Well I guess all this means is a big pay rise for Ivan and another good year for the Arse! :barscarf: It pains me to think what we could do with £123m. We could sign two or three "Super, super quality players" and cut ticket prices massively and still have our good old rainy day fund in ca...

Re: Arsene Wenger - For him or against him?

The defeates to Blackburn and Bayern have only made me stronger in my belief that its time Arsenal made a change. It's been made claer again that we're stagnating at best and how much the quality of the team has detoriorated since the early part of Wenger's rein has been emphasised again. What reall...

Re: Superbowl XLVII

My Niners have it tied up! If Kap can put in another goood perfomance and we can run the ball well with Gore then we should be able to put up enough points on offense and then our defense can do what they do best and make loife impossible for Joe Flacco who's ability in 'clutch' situations I still q...

'Well-run club' You're having a laugh!

I get so pissed off when any TV presenter or pundit in the media pipes up about how we are 'well-run' just because we make a profit, its absoloute nonsense. A club that charges its fans ridiculous ticket prices, sells its best assets and fails to replace them and despite having a huge turnove...
