Re: First wave of PL stalwarts go into management
Is it just me or is lampard as thick as fuck ? Personally, I think he’ll go the Bryan robson, mark Hughes route - aka be dogshit but keep be given chance after chance due to their playing career. For a team that’s just missed the play offs it’s a shocking decision to pick a manager with no coaching...

Re: Zidane
I would love it if Wenger took over Real Madrid. I would even support them and hope he does well. Although, I dont think he would cope with the pressure and expectation. Not to mention, the players in that team owe him nothing, so wenger would literally have no control and would expect to manage tho...

Re: Arteta
So glad Arteta didnt gt the job. Unlike most, I actually personally dislike Arteta. I winced at the sight of him, and whenever reading stories about him potentially being our manager, I skipped the pictures of him because I couldnt bear to look at him. I loathed him as captain, and never liked him a...

Re: Unai Emery
I really think the board and Gazidis picked up on the fans dismay about Arteta and didnt want to appoint someone who would instantly be unpopular. They really have done a good thing here by appointing Emery. An outsider with no connections to Wenger who has managed top players and enjoyed success el...

Kate is a classical beauty. A worthy princess. Just like Diana.

Re: Arteta
Speaking of Arteta's confidence perhaps being a good indicator. The most confident striker we ever had, was Bentdner.

Re: Arteta
Suddenly Arteta has transformed into this worldly figure with an enormous reputation behind him. Funny, I thought he was a former Rangers & Everton player and got lucky being one of the mad transfer dash following the 8-2 thrashing. Thats Arteta's legacy. He was recruited to this club spontaneou...

Re: Arteta
Why Arteta though? Vieira and Henry are in the same boat experience wise but unlike Arteta, the fans could get behind two former legends. They could not have picked someone less inspiring. Not only that, its succeed or fail. If they had picked a top manager and we didnt adjust, we could say alright ...

Re: Arteta
One of the reasons Wenger failed hard in those last few years, was the atmosphere turned toxic because trust was broken & almost all fans knew he couldn't turn it around. Once Wenger was moved on, that toxic atmosphere would dispense and the whole club could start fresh. All the club needed to d...

Re: Arteta
The argument made for Arteta is a relative one, people are saying well Pep & Zidane both had success in their first years despite limited experience, so why not Arteta. Well then fair enough, but if that is the argument made for Arteta, then it needs to be applied = we should expect success in t...

http://www.gunnerstown.com/arsenal/2018/05/15/arteta-arsenal-manager-a-bold-choice-or-a-foolish-gamble/ Sums it up pretty well for me. We are certainly right to have concerns...but there's no need to get carried away yet. Some of the stuff I've seen online has been ridiculous....akbs trotting out &...

Re: Arteta
His whole claim to the job is rooted in in being Pep's assistant for one year. Steve McLaren was rated very highly be Ferguson as an assistant, before bombing at Boro. Likewise Carlos Quiroz was rated highly by Ferguson and got the Real Madrid job which ended in disaster. There is no correlation bet...
