Re: Manure (H) New Years Day 8pm

Still don’t think that Arteta is the right appointment, but it’s impossible to say that he’s not made a difference in the three games. More intensity, more desire, more tempo and it’s a shame we’ve not really got the quality and certainly not the fitness to implement it for 90 mins. Torreira looks a...

Re: Manure (H) New Years Day 8pm

Very few teams in this league are fit enough to play 90 mins at high press fast intensity. We have a team which is already one of the unfittest in the league with the likes of Kolasinac, Torreira, Guendouzi, Xhaka, Ozil and Lacazette. Get used to our performances nosediving massively after 65-70 min...

Re: Manure (H) New Years Day 8pm

Great ball from Ozil to Lacazette. The bloke is too fucked to be arsed to run. At the best of time he has 75 minutes in him, with a high press he has an hour.

Learn your lesson from Sunday and take him off for fucks sake. He is offering nowt.

Re: Manure (H) New Years Day 8pm

Same old, same old. Always a booking for us, never for them. What I do like to see is that we're in the ref's face whenever something happens. For too long, we've just stood there doing fuck all.

Re: What a shit decade

Player of the decade - Sanchez. No competition if you’re being honest. Cazorla is rightly infinitely more popular than this guy, but Sanchez shone week in week out in a dreadful side. Worst player - Xhaka or Mustafi. Two dreadful players who have played an unthinkable number of games for us and who ...

Re: Manure (H) New Years Day 8pm

Get in! Needed that desperately. Both Arsenal and Pepe. And that is the difference from cutting the ball back sensibly and trying to pick a man out. Normally Kolasinac just wallops it across aimlessly and Saka has just been whacking it miles too high. M We need to get another - we are capable of blo...

Re: VAR

That was a fucking shocking tackle by Cresswell. Clearly went in to put one on the guy, horribly high and could have done him serious damage.

Is that seriously a clear and obvious mistake by the referee, just because he lightly brushed the ball on the way through trying to cripple the bloke?

Re: Jose Antonio Reyes - RIP

Possibly eclipsed as his greatest moment at Arsenal by him hacking down Ronaldo to get sent off at the death in the FA Cup Final in 2005. Wish our defenders these days had half as much nous.

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure?

He is just a modern day version of Andre Santos. Overweight and no interest in defending. Part of the reason that he gets off so lightly is because he is normally not even in the frame whilst the likes of Mustafi and co are making fools of themselves. It’s not even like he is good going forwards. De...

Re: Jose Antonio Reyes - RIP

That fucking thunderbolt he scored in the FA Cup against Chelsea would still be travelling now if it hadn’t hit the back of the net. Fucking rocket.

Re: What a shit decade

The FA Cup final against Hull was brilliant, to win a trophy and get that off our back.

The remainder of the decade was just constant frustration, on and off the pitch. Looking at where we were 10 years ago we should never have let Wenger run things down as badly as he did and leave this mess.

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure?

The key difference with that is that - whatever allegations people might make about being chequebook managers (Guardiola in particular) - they had a huge deal of experience when taking those jobs. Klopp has nearly a decade and a half (7/8 years at a big club achieving big things in Dortmund) and Gua...

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure?

OBG the negativity from my perspective isn’t because he has done badly the two games he’s had in charge, it’s because our managerial role is a poisoned chalice to start with and we have given it to somebody who is blindingly obviously the wrong sort of appointment.

Re: The why is there no Chelsea thread thread

We need to grow a backbone quickly. We have been outplayed comprehensively by some of the worst sides in the league this year - Watford, Brighton, Southampton and by Villa and West Ham for long periods. The only game we have won by more than one goal was at West Ham, which was on balance still a pre...

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure?

Cards on the table - we can’t defend for shit and we are incredibly spineless under any sort of pressure. Until we sort out both of those things, Arsenal Football Club will go nowhere. No amount of fast pressing or counter-attacking football will change that. Is Arteta the bloke to sort those two th...
