Re: ALL OR NOTHING: Arsenal on Amazon Starts August Thursday 4th 2022

I watched these episodes and some of it was embarrassingly stupid to comprehend the thinking behind it - ie - big speakers followed by Arteta yelling 'OK - you are at Anfield'. I know that they are footballers and perhaps thought is down on their list of priorities, but still, this was unbelievable ...

Re: League finish prediction (22/23)

Top 4 this year is a real possibility. Arteta must learn that he has to drop Odegaard during physical matches because the guy can't hack it when he gets pressured and roughed up.

I'd rather see a back 3 with two strikers during these matches, but what do I know? :D

I wonder if ten Hag thought that he was buying Lautaro Martinez because they sure could use a striker....

Re: William Saliba

The lad looks ace in what I have seen so far, but I won't get carried away until a few more games against better attackers. :-)

Sorry lads - emotions might be high, but that was two yellows for Holding Brain dead. Had 2 prior warnings and does that to the biggest cheat in football Cedric was a prat too Where's the captain? Where's the leader taking the rash defender to one side? Where's the calming words from the sideline? ...

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure? - Merged thread.

I don't mind the signing. I didn't expect higher than 6th/7th this year (which could still happen), so if he gets 4th or even 5th, he deserves a contract. I would have preferred it at the end of the season, but it is plausible that there was a requirement for contract renewals/new signings to have m...

Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure? - Merged thread.

I hoped that Arteta would come good and for a spell, it looked promising, however you can see that he really is a goldilocks manager - everything has to be just right to work. He also can only tolerate certain personalities and is married to his way of football which gets the least out of the strike...

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

If we do sign St Francis of Rashford  then obviously I hope he is a huge success for us, but tbh I don't think he will be. I think on his best day he is still only in that second tier of forwards like Sturridge, Welbeck, Giroud etc. And as SteveO said, where and how do we play him in this cur...

Re: CoronaVirus / Adolf Putin / The Apocalypse etc

Omicron BA.2 the latest strain that appears to be finding it's way around the vaccinations . People over 70 ( that's me ) and kids below 11 seem to be topping the charts at the moment so nothing will get done whilst that remains and the rest of the population can run around and spread it and not su...

I see Tierney being linked to Real Madrid recently for £50 million (allegedly). This looks like agent talk to me. Do they really need him?

None of them are credible, no CDC or BMJ for example? I read the Sparticus article, it was written by someone who didn't even have the balls to confirm what his/her name was and their level of qualification? At least someone like Dr. John Campbell, who was slaughtered by the BBC a few months ago ha...
