I agree that we could do with holding onto our best players as part of the "foundation building" of a young squad, but the problem here seems to be the players in question and not the club. when adebayors agent comes out and says "if barca come in for him he'll find it hard to resist&...

Eboue has had good performances 2 seasons ago. I think he disappointed last season as much the likes of Flamini (pleasantly) surprised us. There is a player in there somewhere but, going on last seasons performances, I would only have him as a squad player, and if he takes his chance if and when he ...

We learned to love Flamini for all the same reasons, so anything is possible.

If Eboue had a season like Flamini just had, though, I imagine him and his agents would really be lording it around the transfer market!

I think the price tag for Barry speaks volumes. He may be an "established premiership player", but so is Robbie Savage! I cant help repeating myself but we were only a beaten to the title by a couple of bad results, and knocked out of the CL on the back of some dodgy decisions. You cant ar...

despite my misgivings about Gallas, I dont think it would be good for him if he was stripped of the captaincy for it to be given to one of the younger guns. this happened to Hyppia at Liverpool and I felt a bit embarrased for him. it could be better to keep Gallas as skip, and try to get a more posi...

I think we should continue with the carling cup as before. how much pleasure have we taken from our "reserves" taking apart decent premier league and championship sides in the last few seasons, and almost pushing a full strength chelsea all the way? (i have never felt so satisfied after my...

The more I read all the transfer speculation, not just the gunners, but all the other clubs, I wonder if wholesale changes are really such a good thing. One of the factors that gave me great hope last season was the fact that we went into the new campaign with only a couple of tweaks, namely Sagna a...

i watched a selection of his best moments on youtube. he does look tasty but the only goal he scored was a tap in from inside the box . I don't think I've ever seen a tap in from outside the box!! Welcome to the forum by the way  it was nar the edge of the area but the keeper was nowher...

The like of Grimandi and "Horse" are still around, as scouts I believe, and theres no doubting the love felt for the club by the likes of Thierry, Vieira and Bergkamp, and who's to say a certain Mr Adams wont be back at some stage. I agree that Bob Wilson looks like he's going to cry every...

Does make you wonder what someone like Fabregas is thinking.

Maybe Cesc is a different story as he has some very (presumably) lucrative sidelines by way of pepsi and nike advertising

maybe its time for the club to review their wage structure. If we cant justify paying wages comparable to our rivals then how can we compete. the increase of wages to ensure that our best players stay, would surely be less than the equivalent of purchasing and paying for one good quality replacement...

This seems to have become specifically about Adebayor, but I have been critical about him at times; his lack of control at times and his amount of (legitimate) offsides. But I have to say that his goal count for the season has been fantastic, and thinking about the other contributors comparison with...

I am gutted to see Flamini leave. Apart from his excellent football this season, I thought his attitude on the field has always been great. At times when some heads are down he was always geeing people up, and I actually thought he might be captaincy material. Now there's talk of Gattuso coming who ...

I though I was the only deluded fool! I wasn't going to admit to anyone that I stuck a tenner on the lads, after the game on saturday, at 175-1!!! (paddypower)

we'll probably go and draw tonight!!

i think it does put into perspective how close we have come.
