Re: Cup final tickets

I feel very lucky that I'm going this time around...although missed out on FA Cup final wins against Chelsea, Newcastle & United so feel it's my turn!! But I would say that watching the CL Final in a bar packed with gooners (and the French footie fans who became gooners for the night!) right nex...

Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull

Of course nobody wants us to win. This 9 year drought is a stick to beat Arsenal fans with, about time we got this fucking monkey of our backs. Exactly... Anyone who thinks that those (and there are many) who find it easy to say now that they want Arsenal to win (because they like our style of foot...

Re: Cup final tickets

"Struggled to sell out our end?" That's a degree of cynicism I would only expect from the most ardent Tiger hating Ull Eff See lard bucket. Here is what happened. City, like Arsenal had an initial allocation of 25,000 of which 4k were allocated to players, box holders, corporate sponsors ...

Re: Alexis Sanchez

Only tenuously relevant to this thread (but that never seems to bother anyone else!!), but mention of Jeffers reminded me that my kids all had memorable things happen in their first games: - Daughter: Rosicky scored against us at Highbury! - Eldest son: Jeffers scored v Bolton! - Younger son: Fabreg...

Re: Arsenal v England

I'm definitely club over country on a week by week basis, but I did use to go to a lot of England games at Wembley and can say that ultimately nothing really compares to success in a big tournament for England over club success for Arsenal. Long time ago now of course, but I remember going to Englan...

Re: Arsenal v England

The national team doesn't seem to respect our club. Our players always get called up for the shitty friendlies and end up getting injured, then are overlooked for the major tournaments. I find it hard to support England. I hate half the players! Hate to be pedantic...but there are 11 in the team, a...

Re: PREVIOUS FA CUP FINALS

I think I got over 1980 fairly quickly as I was going to Brussels for the Cup Winners Cup Final only a few days later. That said, maybe I'm still in denial as I've managed to avoid ever seeing Brooking's winning goal... And I think it also helped that it was our 3rd successive FA Cup final so maybe ...

Re: Alexis Sanchez

I've just been looking at a tall blond from Marketing... Like Arsenal though, I think "looking" is about as far as it's going to go!

Re: Wembley Pre Match Piss Up Venues

We're getting train direct from MK to Wembley Central so was looking for somewhere to drink along the High Road. Plenty of Arsenal designated pubs around there but couldn't help notice one that wasn't listed...but seemed quite appropriate: http://fanroom.co.uk/img/pub_images/ha/thebearwembley.jpg Ju...

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.

I'm sure 99.9999% of gooners (or maybe more!) are desperate for us to beat Hull at the weekend and win our first trophy in 9 years... But if the unthinkable happened and we lost....then I think the backlash from the fans (and there would be a backlash!) would mean the end for Wenger. Honestly couldn...

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.

Remi Garde has announced he is stepping down as manager of Lyon for personal reasons. This may be totally insignificant to this thread...but thought I would share. You are probably right, but does coincide with Terry Burton leaving his post as our Head of Youth Coaching to take up the role of Techn...

Re: Places other than wembley to watch final???

There used to be a great Arsenal pub on the Caledonian Road, nearer to Kings Cross I think...cannon on the ceiling and all that. Think they used to organise an open top bus from there on cup final days. Anyone remember what it was called and whether it's still a gooner pub? Just remembered...The Th...

Re: FA Cup Final - Arsenal vs Hull

It will be an Arsenal home shirt for me, but big decision around whether to wear a t-shirt underneath it as this might mean I can get away with wearing it again on the Sunday. A coat of course is out of the question, regardless of the weather! But that does mean that I'll need to decant credit &...
