I'm delighted to discover that I'm not the only one who thinks Charlie George is overrated. Radford was a better player and did so much more for us. People have mentioned his talent but I'll always remember he was a hard worker as well. Great shout from potter about George Armstrong. My first footb...

I think we do not hear much of him because Charlie George, Frank McLintock and George Graham were higher profile players from the 1971 Double squad. But Radford was a formidable striker. This is bizarre because Charlie George did fuck all apart from score the goal in the FA Cup final. Raddy and Ken...

Hmm, this looks like an interesting thread, I'll need to read it all when I get home. Because I havent read it all I'm not too sure how far you've managed to get but good luck with it. Personally I think the days of passionate home supports are finished in this country, but it would be good if a se...

cashley will no doubt have heard of the classy manner in which speed handled howard kendall "selling him down the river" (from his boyhood team everton to newcastle) speaks volumes So on the day after he hanged himself, are you trying to imply we should have no sympathy for the guy becaus...

If the growing rumours are true, then his suicide will have been an act of incredible hopelessness and despair? Hardly, if these rumours are true, then it will have been driven by vanity and how he wanted to be seen by others. Depression is an entirely different matter and since friends and colleag...

I know people say that depression is an awful thing (if it was depression) but I still dont know if it is an acceptable reason to do what he did especially leaving two young kids behind :( The crux is that if it was depression, then can anyone know if reason and logic are part of the depressive's t...

The only way you will get any atmosphere going, as has been pointed out elsewhere, is to get everyone of a like mind into one section of the ground. I was thinking about this at the weekend and talking to other people about it at the game. I was sat in the Upper Tier where it is very much "shh...

I am watching this thread with interest, it’s almost as interesting as watching SWL getting ’ID’d’ in a pub on Saturday and the subsequent ‘drama queen storm-out’. So far, there seems to be an obsession with the group name, which is just a tiny, tiny detail. There are lots of comments a...

It's difficult to get behind the rest in peace sentiments. A tragic loss and I couldn't even imagine to wonder what has driven him to it, but one headline has stuck with me today and I can't shake it. He leaves behind 2 children, 14 and 13 year old boys. Leaves them behind to face the rest of their...
