Natural Born Gooner

Yes, that reminds me of something from the Onlie Ed the other day recalling a text from the Highbury Spy: "The players have stopped playing for him" or words to that effect.

Not quite as devestating - but still bloody good

Busquets - is that not due to injury & ACN. Hasn't he been coming in for Iniesta rather than YT/K?

I still think there's a case to be made for too many cooks. Iniesta wide would also take out a lot of width (and play him in a position he is not quite as devestating (alothough still bloody good). Busquets I'd have said was a more of a foil for Xavi. Keita/Toure would be the holders. HOWEVER having...

Gunnerdude, That completely changes Barcelona's formation and breaks up the Xavi/Iniesta axis There is no holding midfielder in there either. However I accept that playing him as a 10 was not an option I considered. Nevertheless X/I/Cesc I can't see how they'd all fit in. Very similar players - woul...

If it turns out that Cesc wants out I'll be gutted. However I don't think he'd be ahead of Xavi or Iniesta, so I think he'll be around for a couple of seasons yet. At the moment it's Balague writing in AS - I think it was Boomer who pointed out that neither were particularly credible sources. Until ...

I agree that having the North Bank & Clock End would be the biggest "Arsenalisation" step. Whilst these are not individual stands it allows us to identify with where & who we sit with. Don't forget how brilliant it was a Highbury, when there wasn't a lot happening on the pitch so t...

I quite like Ben Foster - he's a bit of a throwback player - if the pass back rule didn't exist he'd be very good. It's complete pandemonium when he has to use his feet.

It'd be nice to think that we had the next Buffon or Casillas in Szczesny. However Casillas had some pretty good defenders in front of him and Italians tend produce good keepers. Even though Buffon was capped at 19, it was his move from Parma to Juventus* when he was around 23 (admittedly still very...

Agree with Augie. I think next season he should go on loan to a Championship club. If he continues to impress the following season loan him to a Premiership club, if he's still going well after than get him in the squad for the 13/14 season. He needs to be playing regularly, not getting scraps as a ...
