Re: Unai Emery

akbs are a joke. I don't see Emery staying eight years, I think that time has come and gone. Plus, I don't think it's a bad thing, we now have a structure in place to change managers. But Emery is coming to a new league and there will be mishaps. Pep was decent at his first season but won nothing an...

Anyone remember the last Spanish manager who came to north London with a europa league trophy under his belt with Sevilla
Didn't he go on to be one of their most successful managers in their history. Probably.

Re: Unai Emery

I know Emery, I know he ultimately failed at PSG. But I look at his work at Sevilla and see a manager who used what little he had, and made them a strong outfit that could win trophies. he also managed Valencia for 4 years. he had three 3rd place finishes in that time - behind RM and Barca, 3 ECL q...

Re: Unai Emery

John Cross. :banghead:

Is he an Arsenal fan? Or is he more worried that an experienced manager might improve us, and hurt someone's legacy.

Re: Unai Emery

Pleasantly surprised  I really thought it was Arteta and prepering to accept such a massive risk. But this makes me feel a lot better. I know Emery, I know he ultimately failed at PSG. But I look at his work at Sevilla and see a manager who used what little he had, and made them a strong outf...

Re: Lacazette out of French WC squad

I'm not surprised. They have plenty of strikers better than Lacazette, and nobody as tall and as good looking as Giroud. Really that simple.

Re: Your Choice As Manager

This is a massive risk. Pep and Zidane inherited great squads and were coaching their respective B teams. Assistant manager/coaches don't always fare so well, and Arteta has been coaching for what a few years?? Don't understand the need to be so bold, when the club needs new players, and without CL,...

Re: The "Mustafi & Poor Defending in general" Thread

I'm not sure what is true or not in that article, but wiping the slate clean in terms of staff is a positive move. They'll get new jobs i'm sure, but for Arsenal it means they have an opportunity of moving forwards, with hopefully a clean and objective recruitment process.

Re: Monreal

Certainly one of our better defensive signings, we've hardly signed better LBs have we. Before this season he was pretty good. He is 32 now and his entering a common decline at his age.

Re: Your Choice As Manager

Didn't Arteta buy Gazidis a really expensive watch just before he left? Almost sounds like a plan may have been hatched way back then? The Telegraph is already reporting a transfer budget of just £50m for next season, other rags have reported that figure a couple of weeks ago too. Gazidis's 'we mus...

Re: Your Choice As Manager

Hopefully that's just Skysports News understands: 'we're talking serious bollocks.'

ffs, Arsenal isn't a toy, this isn't pep taking over messi, eto'o and henry. This is some serious sh1t we're in.
