The saddest thing is he could have come out long ago and told everyone he was dying and was going to pass the mantle on to someone he trusted to do a good job...
Yet in his need for privacy and not wanting to act the martyr he allowed himself to continue to be passed off as the bad guy by some...
Lets hope he gets a good send off at the Liverpool game....he deserves it..

His illness was reported in the Evening Standard last year.
He got criticised by bloggers for not attending an AGM but it appears he was in a cancer clinic in Switzerland at the time.
He set up a share holding company a few months ago which was reported in the press, so it looked bad then but outside of his family the world had no idea he was so close to death until blogs mentioned it earlier this week.
