Anyone remember Lee Chapman playing for us?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Anyone remember Lee Chapman playing for us?

Post by merson_is_god »

I read in a book that he played for us earlier on in his career. I remember him playing for years but apparently he was shocking for us. What can you all remember about him?

He came with a big reputation as he'd done well for Stoke but he was poor admittedly the team weren't particularly good either. Watching help Leeds to win the prem in the early 90's I couldnt believe it was the same player.

He really was shit. Came with a big reputation, and proceeded to disprove it within days, iirc.

Couldn't believe that someone bought him when he finally went.

I well fancied Leslie Ash though, so that I guess gave him some kind of cult status.

P.S. If anyone wants to change 'cult' for me, I won't object.

P.P.S. Bendy reminds me of him - a lot!!! Build, hair, attitude, skill.
