Gazidis on Sky Sports News

Post by Jumpers For Goalposts »

Did anyone see Ivan's interview??

"Arsene is incredibly focused"

"We have shown great strength"

"We have been remarkably consistent and Arsene will lead us back to consistency"

Haven't seen a full transcript yet but these are the stand out quotes. They're all as deluded as each other. Looks as if everybody in a position of authority at our great Club are happy to fiddle whilst Rome burns.

Where is the leadership??????? :banghead: :banghead:

From the Guardian:
The Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has insisted that Arsène Wenger's position as manager is not under threat, despite the club's worst start to a season since 1953.

Arsenal have lost three of their first five Premier League matches this season and have not won a trophy since the FA Cup in 2005. The club's last Premier League title came in 2004.

However, Gazidis said that sacking Wenger is "a route we are not going to go down", adding that having critics and fans portray Wenger "as some kind of idiot" is damaging for football.

Speaking at the Sport Industry Breakfast Club in London, Gazidis said Wenger "is not broken... he did not suddenly become a bad manager or somebody who became out of touch with the game. That is complete nonsense."

No one is taking charge, everytime it's just people at the club sticking their fingers is ears and looking away. They don't even know what they are saying anymore I bet.

Nail on the head there mate!! That's the stand out quote isn't it?? We are consistent but we need Arsene to lead us back to something that we already have.

I thought Gazidis was an intelligent man - are these people so wrapped up in their own PR spin and bullshit that they can't see how ridiculous they are??

I don't agree with much at the club at the moment but I do think people are wrong to be trying to make Wenger out to be stupid.

The rest is bollocks.

The whole thing is now absurd. Protest needed BIG STYLE. Enough. Fucking tear these c**ts a new one at the next league game, and I hope Bolton put 3 past us. Had enough. If defeats is the only way to wake some idiots out of their stupor then so be it.

Arsene is incredibly focused"

"We have shown great strength"

About as strong as a brittle peanut biscuit. Strength? Did he mean the 8-2? Did he mean the 4-3 at Blackburn? Or did he mean the strength for plucky little Arsenal to scrape a remarkable 0-0 draw at St James and a win over moneybags Swansea with their fat wage bill?

"We have been remarkably consistent and Arsene will lead us back to consistency"

The inherent contradiction in terms as pointed out by others, never ceases to amuse. It's wonderfully absurd what is going on in this Orwellian clusterfuck.

The situation has reached such cult-like proportions that now, despite sitting in 17th in the table we are being told Wenger is the only man who can get us out of the mess. Of course, no duty of care is taken to mention who got you in this mess in the first place.

If you took over as CEO of a company and managed to turn a profit-making machine into a loss-making joke, would you expect the chairman to come out and say:

'He led us into a massive loss but I believe he is the only person who can get us back into breaking even'?

It's a fucking farce.

Mind you, Gazidis is a muppet who barely understands the offside rule. He's a fuckwit who was appointed more or less by Wenger.

The whole structure at Arsenal is now a farce. Any big club would have sacked Wenger by now.

You all laugh at Liverpool but the minute Hodgson started fucking around he was out the door. And remember, Hodgson never got spanked 8-2 and took care of Chelsea at home first attempt (not needing 14 attempts to do it a la Wanker).

At Arsenal?

Gazidis claimed one week 'the fans will decide his future'

The following month, with fan anger at an all-time high, Gazidis has effectively discarded fan opinion and the public consensus. Proving he was a Wenger clone by LYING. Disguting bunch of *word censored*.

STOP PAYING TO ATTEND MATCHES FFS. IT'S THE ONLY WAY WE WILL GET CHANGE AT THIS CLUB.

That's right. Wasn't overnight it has been seven years in the making.
Out of touch with the game? The man who keeps the same stale as piss number 2 and refuses to appoint a defensive coach, no tactics, no understanding of the modern transfer market, a refusal to pay market value for class players ('dizzying' transfer fees) and a guy who thinks you can win silverware without focusing on defence.

It is clear that Gazidis is just as out of touch as AW is.
The fans need to remind this *word censored* who subsidizes his CEO salary.

I will agree not to spend anymore money on a league game this season. 8)

Being serious there's about 45,000 ST members that have already paid to attend matches. Unless your saying don't attend matches?

What Baba said +1

I'm dumbfounded. Why say anything Ivan? People in the club are treating us like fools. Makes me sick. Makes me sick I paid a grand for this shit.

Bollocks.

Sorry but shouldnt we wait for the full quotes.

You can take quotes out of context from any one at arsenal that would make gooners catch fire with fury.

Surely Gazidis is not stupid enough, to talk to us through wengerspeak.
