Do you support a 2nd team?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Do you support a 2nd team?

Post by frankbutcher »

I follow Barnet, although I rarely get to games. I used to go every week when I was 12-15. It was affordable, a good laugh and I couldn't get tickets for Arsenal.

Anyone else follow a 2nd team. And for what reasons?

When we moved out of London I was too young and we were too skint for me to get to Highbury so I started going to watch Gillingham.

I'll never forget the gents which was three and a half walls of breeze block with no roof. I ended up going home and away with mates from school. It was cheap and there were always tickets.

I'll also never forget two consecutive play-off finals. The first against Citeh (how times change) and then taking 44,000 against Wigan.

I still went to Higbury but only about half a dozen times a season until I started work.

Well my second team now once was my first as I grew supporting Palmeiras and still do. But for several reasons Arsenal grew on me and nowadays, as the power tug of war has taken my brazilian club, I don't even follow them that hard

Follow Crystal Palace, go to a few games, but haven't had time this year.

In answer to the question, 'Do you support a 2nd team' the answer would have to be NO.

There is team i used to watch as a kid, for the same reasons mentioned by others on this thread, and i still look out for there results but i'd never say i support them.

You can only truly support one team and love one club.

+1

For the record, my "2nd team" is Oxford United.
