Has the Spuds ship sailed?

Post by Wengerball »

After that lot dispatching Everton tonight it leaves us with a 9 point gap (made 10 by GD) to the Scummy lot, who are level on 45 pts with Man Utd FFS.

I must admit I thought we would catch them up a bit and close the gap over the last 5/6 games where we had some easy ties and they had to go to up against the Chavs but instead the gap is wider than it should be. That is mainly down to the fact that we have dropped some terrible points in this period to the likes of Fulham x2 and Wolves. They have also dropped points but have overall done pretty well out of it reeling in both the Manchester clubs.
I hear optimistic fellow gooners proclaim that they will collapse and we will be able to catch them up but our late season form over the last number of seasons tends to suggest that that is our specialist area.

I was concerned back in October- now Im really really worried that St Totts day will not happen this year.

For the record this is not a poll about whether we will get into the Top 4 anymore it is simply if we will finish about Dirty Harrys lot.

Well if we've not reduced the gap significantly by the time we play them I fear there'll be no St Totteringham's day this year

For me, a lot depends on who we buy this January.

Without significant purchases, it looks like Spurs will finish above us.

It's all over for us this year, the season was a complete write off from day one, agent wenger performed his duties for the scum to the best of his abilities! What a total shambles we are in while those twats march on to a guaranteed top 3 place and possibly even the title! Totally unbelieveable stuff, if they win at city in a few weeks, they'll win the title simple as that. How did it ever come to this?! :banghead:

Not a fcuking hope in hell of catching them - we are a team that is way off the pace and appears to be a team that knows it too and have fcuk all belief and confidence as a result. Right now it doesn't really matter if we had sheik monsours cash to spend cos I still wouldn't trust wenger to either recognize what needs to be done or actually make efforts to fix things

For me it isn't a lack of cash that see's wenger persisting with the likes of song and diaby but is because he really does believe that they are good enough for this level  While he continues to stick blindly with his sub-standard crap the likes of crooked harry have looked at what needed to be done and then went about doing it. Under this manager and the continued policy of no accountability that runs throughout our club we are a spent force

If we hadn't dropped points from the last 3 out of 4 games this wouldn't matter at all, I'd still have hope of finshing in front of them. :banghead: sadly we are battling for 4th yet again. The excuse this year will be how we did well considering our shite start to the season. whos fault is that, Arsene?

As far as I'm concerned, finshing bellow Sp*rs should be an automatic sacking, because anyone who cares about the club and the shirt would consider it blasphemy to do so.

The thought of that lot goading us- 16 years of pain and suffering for them being let out at once. The bragging doesnt bear thinking about- you'd be able to hear the laughter and celebrations from all the way here in Yorkshire.

The idea of being the 2nd team in North London is unacceptable- imagine what a player like Tony Adams or Martin Keown would think. They would walk through brick walls for the Arsenal- I dont see that spirit in the team at the moment.

EVEN IF the Spuds go on a bad run we have already resigned ourselves to the fact that we cant catch them.Contrary to popular belief the Spuds havent been outstanding but the difference is that they have mostly kept on picking up points when playing badly. Even when they have dropped points , we then go and drop points against shite teams to hand them back the initiative.

They've got City, United, Spurs, and Chelsea at home, so the scheduling could be an advantage. They just can't drop points against shit teams like they've been doing recently. Hopefully Wenger will bring in reinforcements before the end of the window.

If they sign Samba and Remy, they could win the title imo.

I (and I think augie and Flash) mooted this possibility last summer and we were slated by a good few on here. The scum have continually strengthened with decent solid players while we have stagnated and given extended contracts to poor and at best average players.

The big difference this year is we are scrapping for 4th place. They are competing for the league title. Man for man they now have not only a better squad but also debatably a better first 11. The only player we have that is far better than anything they have is RVP.

Will they win it? I don't think so but if ToastedCheeseSandwichFace stays and doesn't take the Engerland job then he may add a bit more quality this summer and they could (christ I can't believe I'm saying this) win it next season. A bit of vomit actually came up there.

Will we catch them? Only if Wenger buys in January (some hope) and they fall off the pace late in the season (possible).

If these fucktards finish ahead of us this season (probable) then Wenger should hang his head in shame.

Now we all know what it's like to be a Spuds fan, all we're concerned about from here on in is beating them next month while they're trying to win the fucking league. This is a truly frightening scenario. I've been saying for weeks that they are genuine contenders. Finish above them? Don't make me fucking laugh. They have a good squad, a manager who like it or not is good at his job and they have to stop losing because the impossible is definitely on.

Also, Spurs play City, Liverpool, and Arsenal away. By the end of February, it could be a dead lock...assuming Arsenal wins or draws their big games
