As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yes, it's fairly easy IF you haven't got an upper tier one in the first place, although if it's a single you MAY stand a better chance, although on the whole, you maybe there a long time.
to be honest, i dont mind upper tier if its in the 1st few rows, so that'll be where i look for. but a season ticket is a season ticket after all, something ive always wanted and hopefully always have, so any seat will be do if nothing better comes available :barscarf:

So plenty of people higher up the list than me have been offered STs, yet i've heard nothing. Wtf is that about? To be honest though, i'm glad. I can't afford it at the minute. I could probably just about scrape it together for a lower tier behind the goal seat, but not a chance for upper tier. I wouldn't want to sit there anyway, i'd tell em to keep it. About as much fun as sticking a fork in your eye.

I'm a red member & the only home games i've missed since Summer '08 is the Mancs CL semi 2nd leg & Swansea (h) last year when I was in the states. I've only sat in upper tier a handful of times & managed to get into both Barca games by hook or by crook as well as CL games against AC, Porto, Villarreal etc. I've got to away games at Utd/Spurs/Chelsea and more thanks to this forum & twitter. If I were to get a silver upgrade in a few years that's even better, but the only real standout benefit of an ST seems to be for cup finals & that's so inconsequential these days that it doesn't really matter

That is weird, I know you're not bothered mate, but perhaps it maybe an idea to check... say you've heard of people being given offerd for ST, with higher numbers than you, perhaps they've fucked something up? :?

Yeah i've been thinking about calling em but then a bit worried about being put on the spot: buy an ST or lose your place  Whereas if I say nothing I could have a year to save up for next year! Dilemma!

Yeah, that's true, also they'll say that the offers to higher numbers than you are bollocks, they won't come out and admit it... It'll make interesting reading when they renew the list... you should go down to single figures judged on what is apparently happening to the waiting list atm.

How can they refuse for you to defer?

Some people on the list are getting offers at 20,000 places, when you joined you were told you were looking at 40 years before getting one, surely you just spin that this is about 30 years too early and you are not financed for it right now but in 12 months you will get it together.

It's a complete bolt out of the blue that you're getting offered one now and not in 2054

How the fuck can they refuse?

Stick to your guns as I was initially offered top tier behind goal, told them that I had been waiting seven years and only had budgeted 1000 and couldn't afford top tier due to current economic climate, was told to write an email to box office outlining issue and then I would get a deferral of which I did, got an automated response stating will come back to you in two weeks (of which I thought was crap) so that rang up again, stated my case to a different operator who I explained my circumstances too and she said only seat I would get on my budget was lower tier, so she spoke to her line manager who then asked do me where I would like to sit ideally, told them block 6 and to my astonishment got it there and then (note this was about 10 days ago I think) my advice is ring Box until you get operator who is actually listening and if not helpful ask them to speak to the line manager and ask for some discretion - just my experience - hope it helps....

P'S; Got card today so well happy, just hope AW buys the Spaniard and a defensive midfielder - now that would be a real surprise!!!!!!!!

Not sure if I'm going yet because I'm fasting at the moment so don't know if I'll finish in time.
