THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

the above makes sense, that is probably why he turned down the Real Madrid job

a big risk for RM to go back to Zidane rather than go with a proven winner like our ex-manager.... :rubchin:

Yeah cos TOF has always been a big time fan of technical director style roles

Apparently he could have had ZZ's job and turned it down but keep that on the qt TOF doesn't want to detract from what is ZZ's moment

Another of Wengers lasting legacy that will linger for years is the mistreatment of Gnabry. Gnabry was kept an arm’s length from the team to keep Walcott comfortable. Gnabry is now a Bayern and German footballer who is going to be a key player for both in years to come. Its not hindsight too, as Gnabry was effective in the games he did play for us. He was just criminally mistreated because recognizing him would have meant the end for Walcott, and Wenger was not prepared to pull that trigger because Theo was his pet project. Gnabry should never have even been sent out on loan to WBA. Trust Tony Pulis not rate a player who would go onto become a mainstay in the Bayern and Germany squads.

It’s a monumental fuck how badly Wenger treated this clearly special German footballer that was on our books. Been on a few Bayern forums and they can’t get enough of him – long term replacement for Thomas Muller apparently.

Nice one Arsene. very nice

There's been an interview with Gnabry that suggests that had he stayed at Arsenal that he himself believes he would not have become the player he is now. However, there is no doubt a section of the Arsenal supporters would only give him a load of shit, like they did Walcott before and currently give toIwobi had he performed like he did against Liverpool for Bayern in the last round of the CL, in which he was largely anonymous apart from the opening 20 minutes of the first leg. Good luck to the lad but I don't think wenger can be blamed for this one getting away. The player wanted to go back to Germany.

After being rumbled by Southgate, seems that Theo is getting quickly rumbled by Everton! :barscarf:

Yet Wenger gave this overrated tosser 10 years plus to prove himself. Even Gunnersaurus was more féckin' useful. :barscarf:

More proof Wenger's reign was all about football being an artform & making weird wacky decisions instead of picking a team to beat the opposition & implementing a proper game plan.

Not long now before Wonga is off the pay roll. I just knew he would hang around for ages like a bad fart! :banghead:

Charlie nick was yesterday calling for wenger to be appointed as director of football at AFC   Charlie argued that we need someone to go in there and do our transfer business now - this is the same French c.unt that spent his years dithering and fcuking about in the transfer market as our rivals snapped up good players left right and centre, and now Charlie thinks he is tailor made for the director of football job ?? Jesus did more than fcuking weeped

Director of football is such a shit modern day role.

Chief scout and a list of players, which the manager can add to, then a fixer that can go and make the deal by bending every fucking rule in the book.

All those wankers who constantly supported Wenger over the last decade should hold their heads in shame at what you wished for, keeping your mad professor in power whilst the team & club declined & our rivals caught up & overtook us. :banghead: :banghead:

Hope you're happy tonight all you cúnts who thought one man was more important than the future of a football club. And you had the right to abuse & physically attack anyone who didn't agree with your mad looney cult. :cussing:

TBH I can't disagree with a word of that. The fucking Wenger cult has set this club back a decade. :|

Spot on.

Be careful what you wish for...

I don't wish for Spurs to win the Champions League. :cussing:

Also what Klopp is doing with Liverpool, putting them in the thick of a title race with just a few games to go and also competing for the Champions League, is what he could have done here. He was almost begging to be given a Premier League job (as was Guardiola) but oh no, we stuck with Le Boss and we all see how that panned out. :rubchin:

Tbh I'm glad we didn't go with Stupid Teeth. If we had of we would now have 3 less FA Cups in our trophy cabinet.

Stupid Teeth is all bullshit. He's the Comedy Iwobi of management. All show and no substance, all step overs and no final product.

We should have replaced Wenger a decade ago but at no point with Stupid Teeth.
