pre season games match thread.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Poldi must be thinking "wtf have I gotten myself into?"
Must be thinking what kind of club doesn't learn from the shambles of the last few season starts and sends its players to fuck around on marketing missions instead of training and integrating themselves in with their new team-mates a fortnight ahead of the new season.

Thing is we have a massive fan base in these areas but the poor quality of the team we soon chip away at that. We lose RVP and Chelsea get Hazard. Kind of sums up Arsenal. I dont think we will win the league again for many many years.

Correct. We are about a decade late with the whole foreign touring thing. We should have been doing it when we were blitzing the league & cups back around the turn of the millennium.

Commercially i'm interested to know just how much income these tours have brought in these last two years because I bet it really isn't a lot. Sure, you can go out there with the focus on "connecting with fans" and building brand awareness but if we continually lose our best players & fall away in the race for silverware, it's pretty much a futile exercise.
