Canaries V (what proved to be) the Arsenal light-weights

That run Norwich had in the UEFA Cup was fantastic. I think they were the first English team to win away at Bayern Munich, and then nearly knocked Inter Milan out as well. 8)
An Inter Milan team containing our very own legend......a certain Mr Bergkamp

Inter won it that year
Bergkamp was quality v Norwich, not long after terrorising TA6 in a WC qualifier
think he scored a brilliant bicycle kick in the semi (v Austria Vienna?)
he was my favourite player in the world, and we hadn't even signed him yet

I'm glad you brought up how stunning Bergkamp was back then mate. He was also fantastic in the 94 World Cup

Just a little reminder for everyone who tried comparing Giroud's start in an Arsenal shirt to Bergkamp's. I think the previous track record was just a little bit different somehow

Bergkamps awesome quality was obvious from day one
was a clueless red top campaign giving him stick
(Titi on the other hand looked a bit dodgy at first)

there's a huge difference between DB10 & Giroud:
I still think Giroud can do pretty well
my sons middle name is Bergkamp

Ha ha - yes I remember it well. "Dennis is a Hartle-fool" went the Sun headline after he failed to score against them in whatever the League Cup was called then. Like to seek out the twat who wrote that headline now :barscarf:

Fantastic goal TL and a fantastic run the canaries went on. Great for their supporters.

Wel will have too much quality for them and should win this 2/3 - 0. Would love to see a comfortable win with a clean sheet.

didn't Goss go on a run of banging volleys that season having not scored many in his career before?

surely we'll batter them this time...

I remember a great game at Carrow Road - we were brilliant Titi scored a ledge flying header we should have got three or four
then out of nowhere HuckleberryInbred went on one of his speedboat without a driver runs and scored

Dennis came on as sub, the sun streamed through the clouds straight onto him like a theatre spotlight from god
a flotilla of dozens and dozens of hot air balloons drifted overhead as if they had all come to see him

DB proceeded to tear Norwich a new arsehole for their temerity in equalising
think he scored a couple and made couple more - we prob won 3 or 4 - 1 but it felt like 10
he was unstopabble

one of the all time great away days
(apart from the shite traffic- think it took 3 hours to get out of London and instead of a nice day with the missus in Norfolk she was dropped at Morrisons and we missed kickoff)

What are the chances of JW10 making an appearance? :rubchin:

Midfield of Tets, Cazorla and Jack might never miss a pass (or win a header)

I do hope so but I highly doubt it.

Not sure.

I read earlier in the week that we are trying to organise another U 21 match for early next week as they are not due to play for a fortnight either. The idea was to give Sagna, JW and Frimpong more game time.
Have not heard anything about it since.

Wouldn't a subs appearance in the League Cup at Reading be more likely ?
