SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Even the better ones we sign seem to have dodgy passports

Brazil are really shit these days. Bunch of lazy beech footballers who try to impress their GF's with useless tricks.

The shape on some Brazilian players is a joke. The impression I get is that they go back to Brazil in their early 30s and then just let themselves go knowing they can still take the piss out of the other players in the league.

Is it accurate that the boy Neymar already earns a million a month?

I don't know if they are right but: http://www.forbes.com/sites/andersonant ... ankruptcy/
"Neymar is taking home a salary of about $4 million annually from Santos, the Brazilian club which has him under contract through 2014. Thanks to sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike (worth $1 million per year) and Red Bull, besides a handful of other Brazilian companies, Neymar banks another $4 million off the field, putting his total annual earnings at an estimated $8 million"

To be honest even if the article is wrong I doubt he earns anywhere near that much especially when you consider that he signed the current deal in 2011 - 12m would be pure madness.

Haven't we just sent him back to Brazil on loan?

Alongside sponsors money, as every sponsor Santos have, he has a lion share, he makes around £900k a month, about as much as a top wage earner in Europe without the hassle of actually having to deal with decent defenders or competition for the top dog spot. Unless you are hungry for the highest level of football, you have no reason to turn away from that.

spot on.

not that he is not a very talented footballer, but yeah, that's exactly why he's still in brazil.

EDIT: and we should not forget our 27,5% income tax in brazil, almost half of that in england, for example.
