SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

on what day do we think we have officially been mugged off again?

6 weeks ago just before renewal "yes we are looking to spend big".

11-07-13 Yaya Sanago.

What happens if thats it.

just the depression of supporting arsenal fc for the last decade.

been watching season highlights 97-98 and 01-02.

remembering the day we signed sol and swanking into work jibing all the spurs fans.

the day we beat everton 3-2 at highbury having already won the league. or the 4-0 and adams goal.

memories like that really when we fronted up man utd and won reguarly.

to then compare that to the last 5 years or so. we moved dont laugh to the emirates to compete with the big boys in europe in terms of revenue and signings. where did it all go wrong.

one word to describe the last 8 years....shoestring.

To be fair, I doubt even the most pessimistic Arsenal fan would think the only signing we make is Sanago (Augie, do you agree? :D )

We've done more than that even in our darkest, most depressing summers, so it would be a huge surprise if no business was done between now and September.

HE AIN'T FUCKING COMING I TELL YA !
If only we'd given Diaby a 20-day medical. We might have spotted something...

Apparently he was all set to return to training 6 eeks before the end of last season, but got injured getting off the treatment table.... :banghead: :cussing:

Id have suarez all day long in that arsenal team, he might be a misunderstood *word censored*, but what a player he is, proven in the prem too, out and out threat to the goal net

we've had our fair share of players who have let us down (so to speak) in the past,

he could eat an apple through a letterbox, but id welcome him to the arsenal.

no i dont think sanago will be it but thats what the last 8 or 9 years have done to us.

just how many times has the club brazenly lied to us about signings. Personally i think it should be written into wengers contract that he has to sign 75% of the players he ships out every summer. Mind you knowing him that would be more french, cheap or african players.

in terms of value for money we must be pretty low down in the premiership....the cost is important even if the club keep using us as a cash cow.

And sadly for me i quite like our new away jersey...but the self imposed ban stating "im not spending till Wenger spends" rolls on and on...in its 5th year now...pity!!

Quote from Twatterer on BBC Website :

"Would be typical of United to miss out on Alcantara. Never known a team so slow to sign players!"

Really????? Welcome to our world!!!!

Its an abosolute disaster of a season already. And if we dont buy at least 1 £25m player its a guaranteed bottom half finish and unable to reach the group stages of the champions league which means no other signings for at least 2 years. All it will take is 2 £30m players and we challange. But once again we see world class £30m players like fernandinho sign for city as well as brazil internationals going to spurs. Season doomed already.

Sky Sports reporting we are very interested in Geoffrey Kondogbia of Seville.....hang on, where's my checklist......

Under 23 yo............Check

French..................Check

One decent season....Check

Cheaper than any actual decent player.......Check

F*** it, let's sign him.

Forget proven, goalscoring, huge, consistent international quality midfielders like Fellaini, there's a cheap French one season wonder that may be available for under 10m.
You couldn't f****** make it up.

F*** OFF WENGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
