Puma to make our kits

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Puma to make our kits

Broken by John Cross. Record deal apparently, good news if the money is to be invested.
Which it surely has to be. With this + TV money increase + Emirates renewal
A) we will have a lot of cash in the bank
B) our failure to buy a 2nd centre-forward is even more idiotic

Somewhat symbolic that a wannabe club gets a shirt deal with a wannabe kit supplier - neither are power players in their respective fields which makes them ideal bed mates

Only had a quick glimpse but how long is this deal for ? It says that it is a deal worth £170m but worth in excess of £30m per season - are we to deduce that it is a 5 year deal worth £34m per season but if so why wouldn't they say that instead of saying that it is worth in excess of £30m per season ? :? Would it be because those figures are contingent on meeting targets like on pitch success for example ?

Have to laff at the comment about puma's link to Africa making them ideal for us......sums us up now as a club don't it ? :(

Extra money is always good, but Arsenal have turned me into a skeptic. It wouldn't surprise me if Arsene found £1bn in a cupboard at AG and still decided to buy Gonalons, Aubameyang & Kondogbia.

At least the wanker will have no excuse not to spend properly now.

John Cross' article still managed to get the £70 war chest into the line below the title

The Virtual War Chest is expanding with every breath of hot air that Fleet street can muster !

I love the timing of the announcement ,goes out as season tickets renewals go out so that people will renew in anticipation of the clubs spending some serious dosh on quality players ,but of course before they spend a nickel.......which is what they will spend.

As a very minimum we need
I quality defensive Midfielder
1 Goalkeeper
1 quality striker 2 if Podolski goes

Above anything though we need an on field leader that the players respect who will grab the team by the scruff of the neck and propel the slackarses forward !
Wengers successful years at the club not to mention George Grahams was when we had strong leadership on the field.

Adidas would have been a top choice but Puma? undervalued and feels cheap. Suits us at the moment :rubchin:

Personally couldn't care less as long as they cough up the dough. I'd wear Gola if it meant our more money for our warchest
