Parking at Newcastle

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I think it'd work out cheaper to buy a house and park in the back yard (about a tenner) than look for a pay and display.

Whenever our group drives to Newcastle, we park as close to the Redheugh Bridge as possible, for a quick getaway. It's a fair walk to and from the stadium but it suits us. The following is from my own away travel guide to Newcastle:

Parking - leave A1 northbound and take the A184 towards Newcastle City Centre and Gateshead. Take the Redheugh Bridge across the Tyne staying in the left hand lane, and take the exit onto the A695 Scotswood Road. Take first left at the next roundabout onto Plummer Street, then left onto Railway Street. Before you drive under the Redheugh Bridge, turn right into Redheugh Bridge Road and the car park entrance is on your left. Try to park in the open on the ground floor if there’s space for a quicker getaway. Pay at machine before exit.

Directions to the Stadium - from the car park, head uphill on Blenheim Street. The stadium is visible from nearly everywhere, because of its location set above the town.

Getaway - the plan is to execute a swift ascent onto the Redheugh Bridge on-ramp, with three points in your pocket. Just follow the signs for A1 South.
