If we make only one big signing will you be satisfied?

Post by North-Bank-1987 »

By £10m+ I mean someone who will come in and fit straight into the team. not a youngster or someone bought intentionally for back up. Personally considering the AGM earlier this year I would be hugely dissapointed if our 'spend big' is £22m on one player. I would expect us to spend closer to £60m this window (without selling to raise the cash). I look forward to reading what people have to say.

Yes I will be for sure, we need 3 to 4 top class signings before we can realistically challenge for the major trophies.

Is that negativity or realism shining through lefty ?

Basically lefty sums it all up for me - it isn't about the price tag of the players we buy as such but it absolutely is about having the required level of quality - we need proven top quality players now so selling us more of the "jam tomorrow" ideals will not cut it anymore

No I wont be satisfied and even though I know that I have no divine right as an arsenal supporter to demand such signings, the club seem to be systematicly failing every year in transfer negotiations.... and this will he wont he saga that we endur every year is a by product of the naievity of arsenals negotiations and the almighty messiah's socialist wage structure which again is clearly not compatible in premier league football.

same old shit

and while your at it

SACK Dick Law he is clearly rubbish at tying down a deal quickly, or very good at taking backhanders off another club

wenger listens to david dien, david dien can strike a deal in no time

no other club has such long transfer saga's so frequently

You could be right, but Dick Law is not the equivalent of David Dein; if anything, Dein was Dick Law (the negotiator) + Gazidis (the money man), and without the money man on your side, the negotiator role must be an impossible job.

After all, would it really surprise you if Dick Law was being sent to negotiate within a very strict budget? told he can't offer more than x amount? - if so, I think it may be harsh to blame him for our failings in the transfer market; I'd imagine Gazidis, Kroenke and Wenger are probably mostly to blame.

It would have been a lot easier if you'd just included a Yes / No Poll!

answer!¬? NO!!!

we need a CB x 2, a Holding Mid-fielder marshalling the game..also a Goalkeeper who isn't up his own arse and thinks he's the second coming AND a Striker of Immense ability....alas it shall never happen while the french twit is in charge.. :banghead: :cussing:

X2 centre backs?! I think you are going to be let down. Are you expecting starters?

Depends how realistic we're being. I'm not satisfied in that it's still not enough to really give us a platform to challenge for the league (and CL). But it would be more than I'd expected. If at the end of the season you offered me signing Higuain but no other big names, I'm sure I would have taken it.

Anyway let's just get this deal done and then we can get back to complaining about lack of ambition!

Cheers Hlebby! I don't know how to set up these polls OBG. I know its all foresight at the moment but if all we do is buy one forward then we are fcuked for next season. I can honestly see it happening too, and then they will try and con us by telling us that we did 'spend big' by breaking are transfer record. :banghead:

There's more chance of plaiting fog than There's Only One Arsehole Wenker signing Higgy, but if by some miracle Lord Shitforbrains has a brain transplant between now and the end of the window, then of course it won't be enough FFS. When Arteta doesn't play we're fucked and that holding role is an Achilles heel. He needs to sign a keeper too and a centre half that can 'man up' to the likes of the Chavs and not be bullied like a fucking rag doll

I'm sure we'll use all £70m of the warchest to get those 4 players :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
