Using someone elses membership

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Using someone elses membership

Post by rossi789 »

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone ever uses someone else's membership cards or if they've ever been questioned about it?

More specifically, my girlfriend is a red member but my grandfather is not. I'd like to treat him to a trip to Arsenal but don't really want to buy him a whole membership just for one game. Obviously if anyone were to read the name on the front of the card they would know my grandfather wasn't Leanne.

Will it be easy to get away with this?

Shouldn't be a problem as they rarely check the cards/tickets. As long as the electric access stalls/gates accept her membership card - which if you've paid for a ticket on it, it should do - then he'll get in no sweat. 8)

If he does get stopped which it is very unlikely he will they shouldn't have a problem as it is your family. The only time they have a problem is when they think the person has been sold a ticket by a tout.

No problem at all, thousands of people do it at every game.

As long as she's not a Junior Gunner! :D The reduced tickets display a different coloured light for the stewards to see.

only problem i've ever had with this is, being stopped and searched by police with someone else's membership card.

Being the nice and pleasant people that they are they confiscated the ticket. Which they then send to the club and the person who's ticket it is, has to write to the club to get it back.

So just stay away from the bastards in blue

After the club made a change to the ticket exchange, allowing supporters to "pass" their tickets to friends and family and charged a commission for doing so, the day is not to far away when membership cards will have photo id on, to stop fans sharing memberships.
