13 YEARS AGO , OH ROCKY ROCKY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just spent about half an hour watching 3 tributes on youtube - I loved David Rocastle, his attitude, his passion for Arsenal, his desire, his skill, his will to win are all the type of qualities that not all players have and he had them all in abundance.

Bless you Rocky, may you rest in peace.

A gentleman who only ever had good things to say about the club long after he left (take note Paul Merson)

Taken far too soon and desperately missed. One of my saddest ever days when I heard he'd gone

Wrighty was on ITV4 just now talking about how Rocky helped him to focus for his first game for The Arsenal! Powerful stuff! Wrighty was in tears.

Why do you think that.? I know he missed a lot of the 1991 Championship season but he was excellent in the second half of his last season at Highbury.

RIP Rocky, a true hero. A name that I truly hope will still be ringing around grounds that we visit for another few more decades. :barscarf:
