The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It does make me chuckle how many people get worked up about stuff in the papers. This is a rumours thread, meaning it's not based on fact. If he does sign for United, by all means go mad, but accusing Wenger etc. of failing, before said fail has happened, seems quite bizarre.

I think it all stems from the fact that other clubs are doing business way before us a per usual.we have huge deficiencies in the team that need addressing but most of us here fear starting the season short again, its completely unacceptable, that what makes us mad :banghead:

Seems bizarre? Seems more like a natural human reaction that you would see replicated in other areas of daily life.

if people didnt go mental over things that did or did not happen this forum would be a bit pointless wouldn't it.

We wouldn't have seen the infamous Kalou thread either.

It'll be nice for him not to have to worry about his captain is trying to bang his missus whilst he attends training. :D
I can imagine this happening though:

When Terry welcomes the new no2 to the club:

"Welcome to Chelsea mate, erm, you haven't got a photo of your missus on you by any chance?"

The word from Southampton was that an agreement was in place all Wenger had to do was sanction it.....that would coincide with the massive run of bets on Schneiderlin signing for Arsenal, but Wenger has differed and convinced himself otherwise, due to the form of Coquelin

Again takes easy internal solution, no back up for Coquelin a youngster who will probably hit a run of bad form

Fourth place you will be lucky..... With Man Utd and Liverpool both strengthening there squads that is no formality

Tragic waste of an opportunity to make a long awaited title challenge, basically down to the flaws in Wengers character again coming to the fore

Maybe he decided against him because he thinks we can use the money to get a better player?

Its not for me to name names but it's only June so too early to rule it out.

We signed ozil and sanchez in the last 2 summers so another big signing could yet happen.

Maybe

That's quite a leap you made there mate!

Be more realisitic. If some people care about their club like a relationship, then think about what happens in/to relationships. Then you have your answer.

No need to bring the poor old North Koreans in to this.

So funny seeing this. Franny Coquelin: from Charlton subs bench, to Makelele MK2 all in the space of 4 months!
It's funny because the only reason Coq is in with a shout is due to a crippling injury list - his contract was running down its final few months. If you'd asked any Gooner to name a suitable DCM for the team about a year ago, the name Coquelin wouldn't even have been mentioned - yet here we are, a year later, and he's better than seasoned performers (who've performed over a whole season) like Schneiderlin
This often happens at our club: after playing well for 2 months, Alex Song was the best DCM in the league.
A purple patch for Almunia, and people wanted him as England's number 1
All it takes is a purple patch and suddenly, such and such Arsenal player is top drawer.

So can I ask why the amazing Coq, much like Almunia, has never played a single minute if international football? :rubchin:
Schneiderlin and Kondogbia both play for his country - Coq will never get a look-in before those players. Because he isn't as good.
But hey, what would that guy Deschampa know about a class holding mid eh?

Coquelin has potential. But the point of our club now is to have the finished article - not potential.

Schneiderlin: told that that player favours AFC, but also told of problems between club and representatives of the player.
