Anderlecht Away match thread

Amen.

We were the worst I've seen us in a while. Inept, flat, tippy tappy, static "football", no tactics, no game plan.

Our superhero "hardman"  defensive midfield lynchpin, Captain Stupid Flamoney, was at his headless chicken, arm waving, loud clapping, finger pointing, inept fucking best again. If Flamoney is a DM, then I'm the Pope.

Ramsey was appalling again. A yard behnd the pace all night, misfiring passes all over the shop. I honestly thought fucking Denilson was back at one stage. He was THAT bad last night.

As was... actually, they all were, bar Sanchez. But there is no point in one man giving everything if the other 10 aren't arsed. Sanchez is too good for this Arsenal team. And especially for this Arsenal manager. :| Would love to know what he was muttering and shaking his head about at the end.

It was a comedic match tbh. We could have lost 4 nil or we could have won 4-1. I jumped up when Pod scored but then I actually just laughed at the fucking sureal hilarity of us having to do a smash and grab against "the elite of Europe", or Anderlecht, as they are also known. Sir Chips - any comments on that? No? Didn't think so. :censored:

Was delighted for Pod. That's what a finisher does; reacts quickest, sorts their feet, and then fucking smashes it - no clever backheel, no smart-arsed flicks or chips, no extra pass - just fucking smashes it. A fantastic finisher wasted by Wenger, played out of position constantly, in the wrong system constantly. Anyone that can't see what a properly utilised striker like Pod could bring to this team is a moron tbh.

Heard there was a bit of infighting on the train to the ground? Can anyone who was there confirm that?

The amount of late goals we have scored this season suggests there is spirit in the team , maybe as the game nears its end and we need goals the players instincts kick in and Wenger's philosophy is forgotten. That apart nothing excuses the 88 minutes that preceded Gibbs' goal last night.

My mate texted me that there was far more anti-Wenger songs before the game than you usually get away in Europe and that led to a few blue on blue "incidents". :|

Yeah, I saw the banner was there (which I don't mind. It's got every right to be).

Looks like this could be the start of Wenger's annual reprieve, when he manages to string together a few wins, just when the fans are getting on his back. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

the next 3 games are the easiest of the season so we are not going to collapse now

I have identified the games at the beginning of December though when he could be in trouble

What turgidity, we were in need of viagra all bloody match.

Dont be too hard on Rambo- FFS hes 1 game back from injury  He doesnt play well with Wilshere and that will be an ongoing problem.

Did anyone think back to RVJCs volley from Mongs pass when Gibbs hit it in? Similar position, though obviously the ball came from different places.

That goal was technically very very difficult, what an absolute cracker.

Wenger was incredibly lucky, again. :banghead:

Our defending was such complete rubbish it was beyond a joke

In fairness to BFG theres been barely a game when Kos and BFG have played together this season, one or other just is nothing like as good as the pair together. Given that Kos was injured well before the end of the window (Though he did come back briefly) it was utter negligance not to sign a CB as was promised.

Great night.

Was in the home end, I went mental when that 2nd came in, no reaction from them lot very disappointing

Was next to our end and couldn't hear us much before we scored though.

Bit of bother when we got back to town, pepper spray an all couldn't breathe. From what I understand the local Northern Africans tried it on with those who'd stayed in the pubs.

I was on the train when the infighting happened, fucking stupid!
