Rocky Memorial

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Thanks for the help chaps. As it stands we have 1,162 signatures in five days which is an overwhelming response.

Rocky's brother also sent me an email on Facebook this morning, saying that the cause is an "amazing gesture" and that the family really appreciate it. Sharing it does work, so please keep pushing!

A great idea Skizz, I've signed and will share it via Twitter.

1,500 signatures hit. I've also had contact today from the local press in David's home borough of Lewisham, who intend to write a story to publicise the petition further.

I can stop these updates if people aren't interested, just say the word!

Please don't!

My thought last night was that they should rename the Arsenal Museum after him.

That's a really good shout to be fair. I suspect the club will refuse a statue, but what I need is alternatives. That is a great idea.

I have made contact with the club today to open dialogue, they need to know this isn't going to go away without a resolution that is satisfactory to the fans.

Please keep us updated. I've made this a sticky so it will stay top of page. Maybe PM Gooner Ed and Mike1 to see if the Gooner fanzine might engage with this. Might be too late for this season but there might be some good ideas they'll have.

Well done, skizz - great work. 8)

At the time I thought the gardens on the Old Highbury pitch should have been named "Rocastle Gardens". ..Highly unlikely that can happen now so something around the Emirates would be appropriate.
