Premier League: Ozil makes Arsenal the title favorites

Arsenal waiting for twelve years to the English league title. Now the Gunners seem to be strong enough again. Mesut Özil is becoming increasingly important - no player prepares Europe before more goals.

As Mesut Özil was substituted in the 76th minute to bring the fans of Arsenal FC from their seats and adopted the match-winner of the top game of the Premier League against Manchester City with a standing ovation. The Gunners had 2: 1, Özil had once hung up two goals and dreams as the club from the first championship since of 2004.

With its Torvorbereitungen number 14 and 15 Özil Arsenal led with 36 points in second place, behind surprise team Leicester City (38). In England, no one has doubt that the 27-year-old the template record in the Premier League by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry (20) is already breaking in the coming weeks. In the major European leagues Özil is unrivaled in terms of assists, behind him knocked follow Ángel di María (Paris St Germain) with nine and the two Bundesliga players Raffael (Mönchengladbach) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Dortmund), each with eight assists

"He sees things that sees no other player," said England international Theo Walcott, the hosts scored after pass from Ozil in the 33rd minute lead. "He knows what to do. If you have special players, offering special moments, it makes it easier for us."

At 2: 0 Olivier Giroud was the beneficiary. The Frenchman made after a typical ball entrainment of Özil and a pass into the path of the preliminary round (45 + 1). "The elegant German did what he does best: to play the last ball before the two Arsenal goals," the British newspaper "The Telegraph" praised the midfielder. "You can now leave in big games to him," wrote the "Evening Standard". Özil liable in England on the image to go underground in big games.

Good series against the top clubs

Özil plays by his own admission "the best season in the Premier League." Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger thinks so too. "He's matured a lot and takes a lot more responsibility," said the Frenchman. "You realize his desire for victory. This kind of talent is extraordinary because he has realized that he can help us in every game."

As Özil was asked about Arsenal's title chances, he put his reluctance for a moment from "Against the big clubs, we won, so we know our quality, if we play our game, we can win the league.."

The biggest title rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are already four and seven points behind the Londoners back. "Arsenal proves his title suitability because chief supplier Mesut Özil spread his magic," wrote the newspaper "Daily Mirror". In recent years the Gunners against top clubs could be points on a regular basis, in this season lost the Wenger team only against Chelsea, in games against Liverpool, ManUnited, Manchester City and Tottenham Arsenal took eight points.

The injury-plagued London are however in the coming weeks to push themselves to their physical limits in order to keep the pursuers at bay can continue. Until the end of January Bundesliga start in the second half, standing at seven competitive games for Arsenal. Of the current six injured players will be expected to return only shortly Alexis Sánchez. More templates Özil will be all the more important.

Cheers and happy X-Mas,
Thomas

It is an absolute no brainer to me that selling Ozil would now be the worst decision we could make

He has taken this team to another level and his performances and overall contribution are improving all the time and I do not understand why the jury is still out on him

No one is saying Ozil isnt a great player what they were saying was that in his first two seasons he wasnt playing like a great player. And that was the truth. There were certain games when he was downright awful. And anyone who didnt see that needs their brain and eyes tested.A lot of our fans are trying to have us believe Ozil was good for the last two seasons and is the Son of God(Bergkamp).Check the Gooner player of the season poll Ozil didnt come close to the top 3

It's easy being a smug bellend now isn't it? Bet you weren't rimming him when we got hammered at City and Liverpool and he was going missing every other game.

Ozil is quality, that's not in doubt. Consistency was always his problem and now he is finally showing some.
