Re: Spuds
They've got a decent pair of centre backs two good midfielders a decent striker and a world class goalkeeper. Injuries to any of those 5 will destable them. Be good to see them finish fourth, below us again, as id rather see them in 4th than Liverpool, chelski, manure, just for one season. It'll be fun to hear them bang on about the virtual fourth place trophy that that have been taking the piss out of us for the last 10 years.

if they get 4th it will help them no end in funding the currently unfundable stadium and getting some mug to pay the naming rights that they are struggling big time to sell.
they havent been taking the piss out of us fr 4th as its their ultimate goal.
getting CL for chelsea, mousers, and united will make little difference to them, they will spend big regardless, even the mousers with klopp needing to reshape. for the scum it is absolutely key to everything that the cretin levy and tax dodger lewis wants to do. not so much in the cash they get from qualifying, but in the exposure and attraction to sponsors (lets face it they have a far better marketing team than we do with their revenues from merchandise and sponsor being biger than it should for a club of their limited appeal/success) and attractiveness to funding the stadium.

Re: Spuds
There is a glass ceiling for the likes of Spurs. They are capable of having one good season and getting a CL spot if other teams underperform, and possibly even hanging onto the leaders coat tails for part/most of the season.
But they will not be able to consolidate that and in all likelihood will follow it up with a poor season as they struggle to balance the demands of a CL campaign and higher expectations.
At the end of the day it boils down to money and a side who is spending 50-60% of the wages that five other teams in the league are is going to struggle. Add to that a fraction of the transfer kitty and an inability to keep or attract top players and it's easy to see why the likes of Spurs, Everton, Southampton etc who we have been told at various times have threatened to break up the established top 4/5 have never been able to do so.
Spurs have a worse team then when they were finishing within a point of us. They sold Modric and Bale for a kings ransom which is the best they could have done and like Liverpool have found themselves squandering it all on average to piss-poor players.
They won't close the gap and will slowly drift ever further away from the leaders, especially when the bloated Europa League comes back and they find themselves having to play strong sides against testing opposition and shit trips.

That's a load of bollocks... as long as they finish below us, no true goner should give a toss where they finish. As for their marketing look at it like this, if they finish 4th and qualify for champions league how long would it be before their manager leaves for a bigger club? kane, lloris, eriksen and vertonghan will be on the established champions league club radar and I cant see any of them staying because 4th for them will only be temporary, not permanent and they will sell like we did to fund the stadium.the playing mantis wrote:thats ridiculous. no true gooner should ever say such things.Nos89 wrote:They've got a decent pair of centre backs two good midfielders a decent striker and a world class goalkeeper. no its correct. i find it very odd that anyone would be happy for example us to come 1st and them 2nd, if they could choose to have one of the other mentioned clubs above the scum, leaving them in there pepetual cycle of not being a 'big' club

Re: Spuds
I know, I'm probably worrying unnecessarily but we all know how unpredictable this season is. They have had a run of good luck with injuries but they aren't losing many and at the moment look reasonably solid. A good run to a heartbreaking Thursday Cup semi final exit will shag them out but at the moment they are too close to the top for comfort!the playing mantis wrote:man up and see the reality!Eboue-Why? wrote:They're still worrying the crap out of me

Ox has 20 assists his entire Arsenal career? Citation needed.
I know one stat that you will love, Ox for the entire 2015 = 0 Goals 0 Assists.
