Modern Football Bol**cks

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Manure fans who have just been done 3-0, , smiling and pleading for selfies with the fella who scored two of the goals against them. Modern football fans and modern times summed up!

Was going to put this in the Manure thread but it is more appropriate here as it is not just Manure fans (generous description) that are guilty of this. The selfie thing is the worst in stadium offence followed by jumping about like a demented moron when you see yourself on the big screen even when you have just lost a Cup Final. Then my pet hate the rugbyesque half 'n' half scarves followed by stuffing your face with burgers or pizza slices at a game and buying official merchandise at the club superstore because it makes you a superfan.
Followed by being offended by bad language. All modern football customer traits that grate with real fans. Think back to Roy Keane's comments when Moyes first came under pressure at OT..He said Moyes still retains the support of the away fans (United's travelling support as opposed to visiting fans at OT) .That was a clear sign from someone involved in the game that the whole home game experience thing went against football values..Keane also famously knocked United's home support with his "prawn sandwich " comment.

I came across this article on twitter and a few fans have got in touch with the club to get something done about it

There was talk of a crowd funding but i think it will be more interesting to see how quickly modern Arsenal gets it sorted

If the Club has any class left, they should act on this immediately.

Brilliant read Herbert old chap, well done, thank you for posting it.

Let’s hope the club are on the ball and do the decent thing.

So are we actually allowed to go to the game or is that entering superfan status?

Maybe it is better to watch it down the pub, no colours and swearing like a trooper..

Or perhaps even watching the game on TV makes you a superfan?? :? :)

Apart from the half and half, that is some real elitist crap.

Only had time to read the headline. My condolences to Arsene Wenger's family and friends
