Mertesacker
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... again.html
The captain of our club chosen by our brilliant manager tells how he feels sick and chokes every time before a match. How he would rather sit in the stands and never play again. How some days are a burden for him physically and mentally! What a great example to the rest of our players as their captain admits he doesnt want to play and the thought makes him choke and want to vomit.
I presume this hasnt stopped him picking up his wages as a player this season.

Re: Mertesacker
I think he's brave in saying this sort of stuff in public. In his insulated world as a professional footballer I imagine its difficult to admit any individual vulnerabilities. In a way its good to know he still cares that much about giving his best that it makes him ill. We know his career was over as player when that 18 year old Nottingham Forest striker turned him inside out. I certainly wouldn't mock him for picking up his wages, he's still part of the squad.
I guess had he said he was turning up for training hungover and playing matches pissed, we'd forgive him.

I'd rather have a CH and captain in the Adams mold that turns up pissed or hungover and then gives EVERYTHING and leads like a man and takes stitches for the team than this self pitying navel gazing fucking snowflake coward.
What the fuck has happened to it being a "man's game" ffs.
ffs.
Re: Mertesacker
Anyone who says they would rather not play for a club they are captain of and paid to play for is a weak link and a terrible example in my opinion. How the fuck can you pay someone who says they dont really want to play? I would say piss off then and i will give your wages to someone who does.Nos89 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 12:42 amI think he's brave in saying this sort of stuff in public. As a reward he gets to go and teach the kids in the academy how to be a bottler as from the summer.
To me he exemplifies many things that are wrong with modern day Arsenal..weak,no stomach for a fight and still rewarded at the end of it even though you aren't producing.

The BGV typifies everything that is wrong with our club. A coward with no stomach for the fight paid a huge salary for mostly failing. I'd sack the cùnt immediately for saying what he said. Fucking yellow vadge.

Re: Mertesacker
His first talk to the Academy players should be good..." Lad's give everything for the shirt and club but only if you are up to it , I will understand if you are afraid or a bit upset...say it out no one will hold it against you"..
If Wenger is still manager the new crop of players will be ready for his vision of Arsenal after a few seasons with Per.

Boo Hoo. Fucking lettuce leaf who was a fucking pathetic central defender and an embarrassment to the club. If he had any decency, he would have retired two years ago. Everyone gets stressed and anxious, everyone has pressure but not everyone can get paid a fucking fortune to be absent from their job for years. The man is nothing more than the fucking mouthpiece of Wanker's propaganda machine. Lanky, awkward, scared of the ball *word censored*.

Fuck him. Cheeky entitled cùnt. I'm under immense pressure in my current job. The stress is proper fucking real. And on a pittance compared to what this self pitying vagina takes home.
He's a shameful cùnt.

Re: Mertesacker
I’d rather see the useless prick in the stands too. Fucking frightens me anytime he gets near a football pitch.
Spineless carthorse being club captain sums up the second half of Wenger’s tenure.
Just as well he gets paid about 80k a week to compensate for this awful burden he feels.

Per Mertesacker: ‘As Arsenal academy manager I will challenge the players’ mindsets’
In my new role as Arsenal academy manager I will do everything I can to challenge the young players’ mindsets. I want to challenge them so that they are ready to take on new ideas and protect them from being injured, when it comes to their body and soul.
I want to convince them they have to do something to get to the top of the world and I want to be an example for them. For me there wasn’t really a way up but somehow I made it there anyway, because I did everything I possibly could to give me the best chances to succeed. Talent is what you make of your situation.

Should be easy to drill defenders to duck on command.

Per - I think he might do well
https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... my-managerMainly I was doing it at home or in the hotel room. I had six or seven exercises that I did, sometimes just before kick-off in the dressing room. I didn’t care what the others thought or if they laughed. But you saw again that something new, something unknown, led to laughter rather than people asking: “What are you doing there?”
Footballers are used to working only three hours a day. And out of the three hours they are at the training ground they are on their mobiles for half of that.
We have all the money in the world but do not realise how important the body is. A player on average has a seven‑year professional career, 10-15 if everything goes right. You have to do everything possible to be at your maximum.
A lot of players don’t even know what maximum is – for them it is about having fun on the pitch. But there is more to being a professional than that.

it looks like he takes the Ronaldo approach - maximum training. I saw the documentary on him - he did additional 3-4 hours of fitness, muscle memory and stretching every single day.
and his comments that i bolded betray the social club attitude the ex-manager had, his "just go out and play, have fun " that PV and TH mentioned.
if you ask me, it was Per that got the six backroom staff sacked !
Re: Per - I think he might do well
Hopefully he won't be teaching them how to duck out of challenges at a set piece.

Re: Per - I think he might do well
Shame that all of these strength and stretching exercises couldn’t teach him how to jump or getting ragged about. Seven years he’s been at this club and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him win a header.
Sounds like a fucking lunatic talking about improving players’ souls
