Goalkeeping Situation

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bring back Bob Wilson.
Not as coach, but #1 between the posts.

a £50m transfer kitty ain't going to get us all the players we need, so ask for a few favours.
Bob is probably still a better retired pensionable keeper than anyone we had since Lehman.
Wouldnt have to pay out for these new fangled gloves that keeper wear these days either :D
Ah, are you a “quick spit will do the job” kind of guy ?

Problem wasn’t letting him go, it was allowing him to become an arrogant prick who was a self-perceived legend - like most arsenal youngsters of his era.

Went from being the best young keeper around in 11/12 (better than de Gea) to another calamity off the Arsenal School of Goalkeeping Clowns conveyor belt.

Exactly, which is why I would hope that bringing him back under a stronger manager and better coaching staff, would get him back on track - surely he cant be happy to continue being a back up at juve at his age ?
I would bring him back and immediately install him as no1 with Cech as his back up. Juve are trying to sign Donnarumma who would definitely be a starter if the deal comes off so it's not looking too promising for Szczesny at the moment.
if hes all of a sudden so good why are juve signing someone else...
The rumor about Juve wanting to sign a keeper is just that - a rumor. All the signs otherwise point to him replacing Buffon as of next season. I'm just speculating based on the rumors and hoping that it would push him to want to leave and end up back at us.

He was named Serie A keeper of the year in 2016/17 where he had an outstanding season for Roma. Came back ready to start for us then was let go for peanuts by the specialist in failure, who decided to persist with the chuckle brothers (Cech and Ospina) instead.

Not only do we need 3 new keepers ( 1, 2 and 3) but we also need a brand new GK Coaching Team. "FACT".

Hang on you can't be quoting lines from a civil rights Yankee football film. I'd be much more impressed with a line from a footie film. Give Escape to Victory a try. This is a goalie thread - does Stallone still play? :rubchin: :D
