Where the f*ck are the new defenders? And I don’t mean over the hill, pension providing shit like Cahill!
Suarez is a bit of an unknown, but if he replaces Comedy, then great. Otherwise we’ll be constantly ripped apart at the back.

Aint you been watching/listening to the news for the last few weeks ? No defenders are coming to us   :banghead:
Why ruin your career?

I dont know enough about Suarez to say whether he is a good player of not but if he cant score or assist a goal a match then is he worth the time and resources spent on him?

Our ongoing issue with defensive injuries and the potential for more as the season progresses leaves me feeling we're on a knife edge and let's be honest it's not unknown for some teams to target these weakened areas to exacerbate them. I guess with Mavrapanos back in training and Elneny, Xhaka and Monreal able to step in the gaffer feels we have enough cover...... personally I'm not convinced by any of the stand in options, mind you I'm not confident in most of the first options either :?

Signing suarez would be a massive deal IF it had meant the end of lard arse iwobi, elninny and mikki, but sadly we all know that wont be the case

There is a flip side to that though - if you came into that backline as a defender and things improved, then your rep would go through the roof straight away 8) Lets face it, how hard would it be to improve that defence ?

To be honest mate I think you would very quickly get pissed off....Maybe if there were 2 of you as CH's perhaps covering each others backs. But to be on your own....imagine putting your trust, or trying to develop an understanding with someone like Mustafi, who is always on the deck. Or Kolasinac, Bellend or Xhaka who go AWOL all the time? You would soon be running around like a headless chicken trying to single handedly cover acres of space & look as incompetent as those alongside you. One new guy ain't gonna do it....we need a couple at least.

And a new coach....Bould is useless.

I know i'm going against the grain, but i'm not overly worried that we didn't sign a defender. Look at the majority of goals we have conceded this season and usually our defence is exposed due to how Emery sets up or due to our moronic midfield. The goal we conceded away at West Ham a few weeks ago was a prime example. A nothing ball into the box and Xhaka does the worse attempt at a header known to man leading to a goal. At least if we bring in a few signings in the summer, they will have time to integrate into a (hopefully) new system under Emery.

Again, where the feck are the defenders!? Absolutely screaming out for defensive strengthening yet all the loan players we chased were attacking players (and we only got one of those.) Joke!

The Club is taking the piss, as usual. Guarantee it will be the same old shit again in the summer. How many more transfer windows and seasons do we have to put up with this zero ambition wimpy shit. Boycott the stadium seats again now. Wiggy out!

"Unai Emery to have a transfer budget of just £45million this summer as Arsenal boss continues to work with stringent financial boundaries."

That would be 20mil lighter if we buy Suarez. So, shopping in Ligue 1 and the Championship it is then.
Of course we shall be able to boost this with sales of Xhaka, Miki, Iwobi and ALL the others. If there any takers.

We'd have to pay other teams £30M to take them.

Somebody would be foolish enough to take Iwobi, but offloading the likes of Xhaka, Mustafi and Mkhitaryan would be genuinely difficult when they are pulling in £80-100k a week each.

Elneny has to go too, must be soaking up £50-60k a week easily as a first team squad member under Wenger’s socialist wage structure.

No club is 100% efficient when it comes to wages, but we could easily trim a third of our wage bill without weakening our playing squad at all. Lichtsteiner and Cech must be soaking up £160-180k a week between them and they wouldn’t get into a fucking veterans side.

Looking at the number of defenders we have available to play in the premier league (11) we do have enough to fill the 3/4 positions that we would require. Quality wise there are limited options. Unfortunately, the two that had shown signs of improvement under Emery, Holding and Bellerin, are out long term. I'm guessing whoever he can sell/ release in the summer will get replaced. Looking at the homegrown ratio we will need some British talent coming in.
