Legrove mentioned in his blog today, rumours that we will move Guendouzi on at some point allegedly his warm up wasn't very good the other day and he was pulled up on it, and his attitude behind the scenes has not been up to the standards you would expect of a young player.

Amazing - he wants to offload a young player that he can mould the way he wants, but wants to keep a player that told the fans to fcuk off, and has implicitly told arteta he wants to leave  What does it say about arteta the great coach, if he doesnt believe that he can straighten out young players that are at the age when you can coach them ? Surely it would be easier to coach younger players than it would be to coach older experienced players who would have (mostly) be settled in their ways ?

I wonder if guendouzi's attitude is stemming from frustration at being cast aside for a player who has said that he doesnt want to play for the club anymore :rubchin: That doesnt make guendouzi's attitude right cos he is a professional and needs to behave accordingly, but I for one will be disappointed and pissed if he sells him

We shouldn’t go near Jonny Evans. He’s not better than what we’ve got even, he’s just playing in a much more solid team. He would have been a car crash in our side this year.

Guendouzi probably needs to be ‘reset’. He has undoubtedly got too high an opinion of himself by virtue of how much football he has played despite his age and how popular he has been (until last few months anyway). He needs to go back to being a squad player and having the hunger to appreciate what a privilege it is to have any opportunity to be involved with the first team, whether it is on the bench or in the lesser competitions. Managing that transition backwards will be a big ask for Arteta.

|| Arsenal are preparing a bid of around €45m (£38m) for Juventus CB, Merih Demiral, after bids of €29m (£25.5m) from Leicester & €40m (£34m) from BVB, were rejected in the last 24hrs.

Source, some bloke on twitter who might not be a reliable source or who could be a reliable source, wow confusing myself now

That's what we said last summer and then we see what happens at LEI. The reason why the defence is solid is because of Soyuncu and Evans himself. We can't say he plays in a solid team when he is their number 1 CB alongside Soyuncu which is the reason why LEI are where they are. Right now he doesn't need us, not the other way around.

If there is a CB worth considering and that will actually move to us is Ake.

I'm wondering how much smoke and mirrors are involved this January, as a club we tend to do minimal work in the transfer market and i'm just not sure Arteta has the stones to push hard for funds. We have needs across the park but mainly in defence but we actually have a lot of them just they're all injured, i cant see them countenancing paying out big until we offload some of the trash which due to the injuries we cant right now :rubchin:

That Leicester defence is solid largely because of a midfield containing disciplined hard working players like ndidi in there

I still retain the hope that Pepe will come good, it can be hard settling into a new country, new way of life etc.
If the link to Ziyech is true ( and he was prominently rumoured in the summer, so could be, it surely means Laca / Auba / Ozil is off as we would be too top heavy.
Even by loading out Nelson again or Smith Rowe, or both I it looks like we have the front attacking positions covered, particularly with Eddie back too.

By the way does anyone know how he is at tracking back, tackling, pressing etc ?

Yep Ndidi is a good and very disciplined holding midfielder and Tielemans is also an excellent playerwho plays relatively deep with Maddison being the most advanced. Pereira and Chilwell are good full backs and the side is very well organised tactically.

Significantly easier playing CB in a team like that. Play him CB alongside Kolasinac and he will he made to look at absolute cart horse when he gets dragged out to cover the massive holes left and finds himself one on one with a pacy winger and 20 yards of grass behind him. Or getting put under pressure by an awful pass from Xhaka.
