ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

To be honest I've never really understood the reasoning behind always playing one keeper, people are expected to step into other positions due to regular rotation of the squad due to injuries or overbloated schedules these days so keepers should expect it too. Keepers always seem to get a bit of a free run in most squads, even when they make glaring mistakes in game after game (De Gea) they are more often allowed to retain their position with little competition.

It is a very old fashioned concept considering the way the rest of the squad in tops teams is about fighting to retain your position, and most people seem to go along with this idea. Goalkeepers are molly coddled way too much these days, breathe on one and you give a way a free kick, fuck them get two good goalies in a squad and make them fight it out like everyone else :rubchin:

Macey does not look that good from what I have seen, having two good goalies in the squad is vital moving forward and if both Leno and Martinez are under contract then make it clear that neither is automatic first choice and either can be used as required if they want to be Prima Donnas about it give them a kick in the bollocks and tell them to grow up and earn the wages they get. :box:

Excl: Newcastle close to signing Rob Holding from Arsenal on season loan. Lot of interest in 24yo CB but #NUFC winning race. Quarantine/injuries mean set to play #CommunityShield before finalising move. Unlikely to include option to buy @TheAthleticUK #AFC https://t.co/ogYErZwTkS

According to the Independent, Aston Villa are preparing a £10m bid for Emi Martinez, though it is thought that #Arsenal could want as much as double that for the Argentine’s services. https://t.co/g2SjtM0DT2

Martinez is No 1 - Till / IF he fucks Up.

Typical innit! How many years did we struggle for a decent keeper and now we have TWO! :barscarf: :barscarf:

In my opinion you can loan an outfield player up until he is 21 or 22 years old tops, cos if he isnt good enough to play for your team by then, you will be better off selling and bringing in some money to use elsewhere.
The one exception to that rule is when you have a "senior player" that you no longer want but who you are unable to sell cos he is on an excessive weekly wage and wont take a pay cut to go elsewhere - ozil is the obvious example but he is far from the only one (armenian pussy is another example)

The big question is if our super striker is actuàlly going to sign his contract ?
Out of interest if Barcelona came knocking and you were him what would you do ?

Barcelona are in a mess,if Real Madrid would be a far more attractive club to go to as it stands,Spain wise.

He either signs a new deal or goes on a free,at this point we can't afford to let a 25-30 goal striker go,read a couple of articles that claim we have a one year option to extend anyway that has to be activated before December with a massive hike in his pay, take that option if true, guy looks happy here.

Sky Sports claim Wolves’ pursuit of Ainsley Maitland-Niles looks to be at an end today as they now believe #Arsenal want to keep him at the Emirates. https://t.co/vMRdjF7mz7

One source has told Sky Sports that #Arsenal are now looking into a new deal for the Maitland-Niles, who still has three years left on his present contract. https://t.co/q9ug6zDsKL
