Arsenal increasingly confident of signing aouar from Lyon. Edu held positive talks with chiel dekker who represents the player and personal terms no issue. Arsenal ready to lodge big of around £48m with a hefty lump being in instalments. #Arsenal

According to L'Équipe, PSG are back in for Matteo Guendouzi. #Arsenal had hoped for €35m, but they are unlikely to get that. PSG hope to include Julian Draxler in any deal. https://t.co/JBD6VgzwuS

I was wondering where the yearly transfer link to Draxler was .Higuain and Benzema next.

Martinez has rejected the club’s latest offer of a new contract & has told Arteta he does not want to play second fiddle to Leno this season. But with Villa yet to meet his £20m asking price, the Argentine is willing to wait until later in the window before deciding his future. https://t.co/Z8tGfpdgH3

The Mail say #Arsenal are anticipating a third bid from Aston Villa for Martinez as they hold out for close to £20m for the goalkeeper. https://t.co/MAqPfHl5RL

I thought a month ago that we should have signed joe hart on a free, sold martinez for £20m and then use the £20m to help buy a quality CDM

That ship sailed and I felt that the next best option would be to sell martinez and bring in a keeper on loan like this guy (areola), but even that seems unlikely now too

https://www.skysports.com/football/news ... -long-loan

In my opinion, having a £20m reserve keeper (regardless of which keeper it is) or selling one of them for £20m only to spend a big chunk of it to bring in another keeper to replace him, would be shocking bad business by arteta and edu

City supposedly keen on Aouar now? They are the new Chavski, just buying players to stop others from signing them! :banghead: :banghead: If Aouar goes there then fuck him, he’ll play 10 games a season at best but they’ll probably offer him 200k a week. If the lad has any intelligence he’ll see a move to Arsenal would do his career the world of good, rather than killing it going to City.

According to @FabrizioRomano, negotiations ongoing between PSG & #Arsenal over deal for Guendouzi, with Draxler going the other way in part-exchange. Not a done deal at the moment. https://t.co/CxhwkyAEl3

Obviously 95% of transfer rumours are made up b.llshit, but at least most are kinda defendable cos they related to a weak area in our team, but this rumour is bizarre - we have more attacking players than the rest of the clubs combined, so unless we would be signing him in a "clive allen type of move" (buy him and then sell him within a few days), what would be the point ?
If arteta did sanction this deal, then it would show a serious desperation on his part to get rid of guendouzi

Every summer (this is still summer isnt it ? :? ) we hope for a transfer window that will blow us away, but our usually disappointed - when emery and mislintat joined they gave me some semblence of hope by getting rid of some of the overpaid shit for the first few transfer windows until that ship imploded too. This summer I really thought you were finally going to have a complete transfer window - finally signing centre backs and targeting defensive midfielders, allied to the rumours of departures of players like kolasniac, mustafi, martinez, elneny etc, gave me hope that we were gonna complete the rebuild and move on from le cocks serial failures, but right now that dream seems to be crashing at my feet.

As things stand the only player that is potentially on the way out is a keeper that half the fans want to keep, and there seems to be no club linked to or making bids for the rest of the cack we have accumulated  To buy the players we are linked with (partey and Aouar) we need to sell first, so now we are stuck in some type of transfer limbo and the season is just 2 days away  The beauty of the transfer window closing before the season started was that it pressured clubs to get their business done early, and european clubs knew that they would need to buy before our window closed cos our clubs were less likely to sell when it was too late to sign a replacement. Maybe clubs know that we are desperate to sell before we can buy so they are dragging this out in the hope that we will have to sell cheap in order to get some cash in, but in the meantime that is bad news for us.

We have (fixtures wise) the toughest start to a season that I can remember, and we really needed to hit the ground running with our new signings integrated by now - it just feels that we will now be using players that arteta has already indicated that he would be happy to go, and that cant be good for morale

It will be cash only, no need or interest in Draxler.
