Makes good sense - I thought his experience at top level would be a bonus to us at times, but with his legs gone worse than Kos & Monreal he offered very little on the pitch.

Very respectful in his comments there about the club, I thank him for that.
Free’s up another circa £90k a week to put towards somebody who can defend and has a future with us for a good few years.......

it looks like Real Madrid are having to have a large clearout to fund the Hazard purchase - up to nine players before they return to training on July 3rd.

these are likely players that Dick knows pretty well. maybe once RM drop their prices at the end of June we can pick up a bargain or two on loan or outright.

Depending on which source you believe Cech was on £100k per week, Lichtsteiner £90k, Ramsey £110k, and Welbeck £70k....so that's £370k per week cleared. I don't know what the deal was with Denis Suarez but we must have been shelling out somewhere between £50k-£100k per week while he was here. If he clears out Ozil £350k, Elneny £55k, Koscielny £90k and Jenkinson £50k.....that is some serious wedge off the wage bill

Of those players, only Ramsey, Ozil and Cech have had any impact on the first team in a serious way and you'd have to argue vastly overpaid for their contributions. Koscielny and Welbeck missed a season between them and the others have been bit parts. There's almost £1m per week in wages amongst that lot

Lets give Emery this Summer to declutter and rebuild and see how he goes
