Looks like he may be on his way back to Villareal this summer.
Will miss the little fella. What a marvelous two footed wonder. Magical on the ball and could mix it as well for someone so pint sized. That free kick vs Hull that kick started our comeback in the FA Cup final will stay long in the memory.
Arguably Wenger's best post-Emirates signing. Absolute joy to watch at his best.
Adios Santi, you little magician.

Re: Cazorla off?
The absolute right decision and a positive sign, he would have got a new contract if Wenger was still calling the shots.
Like Cazorla and what he contributed but we have to get out of this cycle where contracts are awarded on sentiment, ironically, keeping Arteta (and Flamini) around for longer than they should have handed Leicester the title.
The Wenger way of working is being phased out, Walcott, Giroud & Cazorla all gone in a year, they'd all still be here taking up space if Wenger still had all the power.

Wenger ran it all like a fucking charity....he was NOT a manager......with his socialist wage structure....thank fuck he has gone at lastGunnersaurus wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 6:45 amThe absolute right decision and a positive sign, he would have got a new contract if Wenger was still calling the shots.

Re: Cazorla off?
He hasn't played since October 2016 and if true he is now leaving. How or why have Arsenal paid his wages for two years then?
Re: Cazorla off?

Re: Cazorla off?
His contract was due to run out last summer but we extended it for a further year in December 2016 despite having no clue about his lay-off which was clearly long-term and the reality that we wouldn’t have to fight for his signature if we had waited and he had gotten fit again later in the season.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 7:54 amHe hasn't played since October 2016 and if true he is now leaving. We’ve just pissed money up against the wall on his wages for the last year. Just like we have for two years with Mertesacker. Players that will both have been soaking up the thick end of a hundred grand a week.

I hope for his sake that he does go to a new team to play. An absolute joy to watch and he ran the show when he was playing. I want to remember him as the player he was before his injury and I hope that he has recovered and is able to play another season or two elsewhere.
More importantly, he does not need to get himself caught up in the potential clusterfuck that is brewing with the new set up.

Re: Cazorla off?
The fewer snowflakes from the Wenger era involved, the better IMO. Decent player, but hardly had that 'win at all costs' mentality I'd be looking for in the coaching staff.

The same reason that Wilshere with his shocking injury record has been offered another contract.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 7:54 amHe hasn't played since October 2016 and if true he is now leaving. How or why have Arsenal paid his wages for two years then?

Also let us not forget the broken money sponge that was Calamity Diaby.... injured for 9 years.... and yet he raked in £27 million.... we named the medical facilities after him.Ernie71 wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 1:00 pmThe same reason that Wilshere with his shocking injury record has been offered another contract.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 7:54 amHe hasn't played since October 2016 and if true he is now leaving. ^^^THIS^^^ Loved the guy - Pure Skill. Him and Rosicky (The Little Mozart) - Both Blighted by Injury and further blighted by the ineptness of the (then) Arsenal Medical team.1989 wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 1:40 amhttp://www.squawka.com/news/santi-cazor ... fosSkWR.97

Re: Cazorla off?
This is getting confusing, last week he's staying and part of the coaching set-up, this week he's going and is unsure of Arteta's appointment.
Re: Cazorla off?
Another player who whilst much loved but in reality should have had the door closed on him last season or even before that as it was clear he wasn't going be fit to play again for us at least .
I don't mind helping people out but we extended his and the BFG's contract @ 90 k per week over 9 million per annum for the pair, the profligate wage waste under Wenger was mind boggling .
I hope the new brooms sweep this away .
I'm against players who have played with the other players becoming manager as there needs to be clear lines as to who is the boss and what is and what is not acceptable.
