As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Would expect our first game to be at home, as there's still talk of Spuds' new ground not being ready in time. So that would give them an extra week. Hopefully it doesn't turn into the Liverpool/Everton scenario a few years back when one had to play their first three games at home.
I guess that is highly likely and no doubt Spurs v Arsenal will be one of the reversed fixtures. Not sure how many fixtures before first international break could all be home games.
It'll be a boring home game against someone like Southampton or Bournemouth
I'd be quite happy with a category C game at home and not on TV the first weekend. Was a pain starting last seaon on a Friday night especially as I was in Avignon with a ropey wifi connection. This year I am back by 11 August, but would rather not start season on Friday even if it is the only time we are top.
Ideally want to play a club with a lot of first teamers returning from a long World Cup. So not Spurs then, most of them will be back at the end of June.
I will tell you this now - doesnt matter if it is a category C game at home, i guarantee that it will be on TV at a time other than 3pm Saturday.
Won't they show the top 5? Oddly didn't have Chelsea v Burnley on opening weekend last time and they were Champions.
It is confirmed that we will start the season at home. We are paired with the scum and they have asked to have their first match away from home in order to complete their ground
Couple of tough fixtures to start with and manure spuds double headers twice. All in all not bad though,if it was still him in charge we would be dreading the start we have..reamings..bumholings..purple helmetings..we would be expecting all of these at various points of the season.I hope Emery has us set up to compete by August I have faith in him
Unai Emerys red n white army
I wonder how long this will take them to fix - perhaps just long enough to postpone the victim's visit and to start with an easier match which they might win
