Re: Amazon
This is bullshit and I hope they fucking fail. It's bad enough having to pay BT as well as Sky.
The wankers at the beeb have taken our licence fees for years and being the bunch of pc twats that they are spend it on anything other than what most blokes would like to see - porn, no sorry, football. Bunch of bastards. They spend a fortune on that twat Attenborough so he can wheel out a wildlife documentary once in a while while the bosses wa.nk furiously over him. Football - fuck football.......ok how about Match of the Day, yeah let's shove that on for an hour on a Saturday night so young kids can't see it and the adults will miss it cos they are out - before videos etc!
Then Sky come along and ok yes I have to pay to get what I want but fair play to them they gave me lots and lots of football, Natalie Sawyer and Babestation.......good work fellas. They were the only ones giving a fuck about putting football front and centre and guess what - there is huge demand so they start making serious money and then of course every other fucker wants in on the action which just hits the consumer. Bastards.
I can't wait for the day the beeb loses the licence fee and has to pay it's way - fucking outdated tax kept in place by wanky arsehole politicians. Bastards.

Re: Amazon
The reason the packages were all broken up in the first place was supposedly as a directive to protect the paying punter........who now has to take out 16 different subscriptions instead of just the one to watch all the games
As others have said I hope this completely bombs, absolute joke.
The only thing I would say about this move is I think it moves us one step closer to the day where you can buy an online pass to watch every single game of the club you support each season.

the thing is though the BBC subscription is tiny compared to what SKY charge for a few games of footballJock Gooner wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 2:18 pmThis is bullshit and I hope they fucking fail. It's bad enough having to pay BT as well as Sky.

Re: Amazon
Sky is far too expensive for a handful of good games, can't remember what time MOTD went out back in the late 60's, but I watched it religiously as a nipper, whilst everyone was down the pub! No chance of that nowadays, people just don't know how to fucking enjoy themselves....

......the thing is though the Sky subscription is my CHOICE - that's my beef with the beeb not the amount involved. And in fairness to Sky they show a shitload more than just a few games of football.
Perhaps if we had a referendum on what the beeb show we might get a vote for more football......democracy !!
As Rodders said it's just another subscription fee to pay which is just a pain. Maybe the TV season ticket idea isn't a bad thing just to tidy the whole mess up.
Re: Amazon
A good compromise would be to allow a way to legally watch any game you want from one subscription .... and the majority of those games are played on a Saturday with a 3pm kick off. That way the fans who want to attend can do so at the traditional (and best) time ... and thanks to massive subscriptions, the admission prices could be substantially reduced to something more in line with the quality you get to see.rodders999 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 2:57 pm

That rule about not televising 3pm games because it would effect attendances has always been nonsense because unless you live a few streets from your teams ground then you'll still miss games if you want to see the televised 1:30pm or 5:30pm kicks offs! Although who the hell misses their own teams match because of a TV game is probably not much of a fan in the first place
Obviously this 3pm thing will not happen because like most things, making money is the priority and the US and Asian markets need to be exploited as much as possible. And so sadly we're heading towards a time when they'll be games on one of several subscription channels 7 days a week and at all sorts of weird and not so wonderful kick off times.
I have a ST again after a 4 year absence and am really looking forward to this season starting but I am under no illusions that the things will ever be like they used to be - and like they still should be.
I wonder how many Saturday 3pm's there will be at the Emirates this season. I'll bet no more than 5
Re: Amazon
Don't give a f*ck as I barely watch football these days.. thanks Arsene and Stan..
Re: Amazon
Spend thousands on jolly ups and taxis.....while grossly paying commentators such as big ears Lineker Millions a year.....then having the cheek to pontificate to the masses....Jock Gooner wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 2:18 pmThis is bullshit and I hope they fucking fail. Re: Amazon
This this this fucking this x 100%. In Oireland we have a national broadcaster called RTE (think shitter version of the BBC with less talent and more arseholes and you'll get the idea).Jock Gooner wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 4:13 pmGunner Rob wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 3:11 pmthe thing is though the BBC subscription is tiny compared to what SKY charge for a few games of footballJock Gooner wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 2:18 pmThis is bullshit and I hope they fucking fail. Utterly fucking appalling channel populated by utter talentless personality-free cùnts. I do not watch their 2 channels ever and havent for years. And joy of joys I have to pay €13 per month for a TV license to cover the privilege of not watching that shit. It's a piffling amount €13 compared to the €150 a month I pay Sky but the point is that I CHOOSE to pay Sky to provide me with a service. The TV licence is just another tax. And to add insult to injury the fuckwits at RTE also have commercial advertising revenue unlike the BBC.
Geldof was right about Oireland. It’s a Banana Republic.
