That's not a bad come back but I must say I didn't catch it over the majority of noise from the Irish contingent which was more the grinding of teeth, tears and snotters
Was there that many Irish there ? Never saw so little interest in a game involving Oierland...even from the normal people who even try big up friendlies
It certainly is a big pile of shite this competition.....but I thought I might have heard Irish voices before kick off singing "and now you're gonna believe us, we're going to win the UEFA Nations Cup!"
Don’t think that the Nations League is a terrible idea. Replacing international friendlies with some form of structured semi-competitive competition where top teams play against each other is a good move for me.
That said I don’t think the current format is right. Rather than a league of 8 teams rolling over 4 years, mini-leagues of three and then some convoluted play-off system is shit.

But surely that is why we have the Euros! Along with the WC that gives us a set of finals taking place every 2 years. Do we really need another 'competition' any more than we need fucking pointless international friendlies. I heard somewhere that 4 piddly countries who don't qualify for the Euros but who do the best in this nonsense will qualify for the Euros by the back door. It's a little bit like the winner of the Ropey Cup getting a place in the CL. I don't know for sure what the revenue deal is but I bet you UEFA will earn a few bob extra out of this set up.
