Well all I've got to say is if laccazzet had scored that ridiculously easy chance instead of somehow guiding it into the keepers arms from 2 yards then my 4-1 prediction would have been correct.

But fuck it, I'm not bitter

Come on you gunners :barscarf:

Btw Ozil was immense Blade.....blade

It's far from perfect but it is a rollercoaster and it is exciting...It feels so good to get caught up in games again, swearing at the players, jumping around the house when we score etc..The life was squeezed out of Arsenal fans by the regieme over the last ten years or so..just caring again is great..
Emery is always thinking on his feet, seeing what is wrong and even taking gambles on rectifying it..Xhaka moved to left back even on a yellow was a gamble but it worked...It may not always work but if we lose we will lose trying..Thought Iwobi was excellent tonight , Bellerin was good going forward, Leno is better than Pete the Plank. A lot to do but so many positives..

I think for me this season one of the biggest changes is that even though we went one nil down i always felt as soon as we start playing our football we'd get back into the game, unlike previous seasons where i'd be worried we'd lose more goals..... i'm not sure i'm used to this yet

Great second half performance. At last Ozil did what he used to years ago. Before he played for us. Maybe the 'Germany dropping' has made him angry & he now will start to pull his finger out. They could have scored 4 or five in the first half & we should have scored 8 in the second. That would have been an interesting scoreline!. 'One touch football' played when your smiling always looks good & usually brings results, funny that !!. Keep it going you Gunners. :barscarf: :barscarf:

We will start slow but win 3-1.
Just call me 'mystic clocky'

Someone on the beeb said they thought emery's plan is to play rapid passing in the first half to wear em out, then send the subs on to destroy them.

I'm half believing that given the contrasting halves.

10 on the trot :barscarf:

If the German national team come sniffing around looking for an attacking midfielder, Emery should tell them Ozil is not for sale AT ANY PRICE    :barscarf:

You've totally missed the point there mate. Forget the agenda. Forget the urban myth. Ozil has nearly always produced since he joined us. He has set PL chances created records and PL assist records with us. He has always created chances. The difference is now we have two decent strikers and a manager with a proper structured system of play and that makes Ozil's job easier.

That was the point that the specialist in retardation Blade could not understand. Top players need other top players around them to be at their best. With Boomerang and Lacazette and the addition of the Dozer and Torriera we finally have players that can understand and read the game at that higher level.

Credit where it's due. The much maligned Comedy Iwobi was like a different player at times last night. Yes he still too often has no end product or blindly passes the ball to the oppo or just plain loses possession through stupid over elaboration, but last night in the second half he was at times excellent and got more things right than wrong. And more importantly he seems to be working harder at getting things right.

Dare I say it but hidden somewhere deep inside him might be a player. AND if anyone can pull that player out of him it is Dick.

Fucking hell that last bit sounds like Friday night in Jordan's house !!

I argued time and time again last season that it wasn't the players that were shite but the manager and that with a decent manager we wouldn't be that far off a title challenge,,i will leave this just here

Absolute buzzing with us going forward. Ozil really showed the class he has and his confidence seems to be growing which can only be a good thing. Iwobi is giving everything he can. He isn't the greatest quality wise but you can see he's trying to take on board what emery wants.

We really need to get to the bottom of why we start so slowly because our luck is gonna run out soon on that front. How they didn't get a pen i don't know.

I'd like to see ghendouzi get a chance with Torreira from the start to see if we can get more of a foothold from the off. Xhaka covered well at left back but he just makes so many mistakes and it will always outweigh the good things he does.

The atmosphere around the place now is just tremendous compared to previous seasons it's a pleasure.
It is worrying. The big test will be the Mousers I think. With their notorious fast starts we will be pushed hard. I don't think the Mousers will come anywhere near winning this league but they are certainly very capable of putting a quick 2 or 3 goals past any team that starts slow out of the blocks.

If we do start slow we could easily be 3-0 down by half time. :|

I just hope Cech is not back by then...

I trust Dick to come up with the perfect gameplan for when the victims come to town.

First we've got Palace to deal with. Always give us a game at Selhurst Park.

Second half yes - first half he was shit

I said on here at half time last night that I felt ozil was trying hard and was having to carry those fools either side of him, and in the second half he upped it by at least 2 levels and leicester had no answer. Something ozil supporters and critics alike have always agreed on, is that for ozil to succeed he needs pacy intelligent strikers making forward runs for him - in lacazette and bangbang he finally has those players 8) Opposition defences also have to drop deeper to combat bangbang's pace, and this also gives ozil more space between their midfield and defence, and this allows him to be the assist king that we know he can be.

Souness (1st class pundit imo) didnt piss on ozil's performance as such last night, but he did advise holding off on all the platitudes for ozil until he produces in a big game - fair point imo. He also questioned the wisdom of playing ozil and the 2 strikers in the big games cos it would leave the team vunerable further back - I continue to say that bringing in guendozi alongside torreira and xhaka in a deeper 3 midfield would allow us to play ozil behind the 2 strikers, but for some reason dick doesnt seem to have enough trust in the team yet to do that.

I think that last night also highlighted the importance of sokritas to the team - his assurance, leadership and no nonsense tackling will be vital in the big upcoming games if we are to have a chance.

Finally, at what stage does dick write off and sell mikki ? If I am being generous I would sell that he was peripheral last night, but the reality is that he doesnt play with enough energy or drive to work in this team, and I for one would sell him

With Ramsey on his way I'm not sure it would be sensible to get shot of Mickey as well. He's alright as a squad player. We need a squad.

There's dross I'd rather let go first like Elneny before we get to Mickey.

Dick needs to sort out these lethargic first half starts as we were dog shite for the first half hour. No way you can play Ozil and Mkhi in the same team against any team that tries as hard as Leicester did and with Iwobi not producing either it was a tough watch.

Obviously the second half was much better and when Douzi and Auba came on the team began to click. Oh how we laughed when Xhaka dropped to left back - wenker is back! - but tbf he did ok there and got stuck in. In fact he did pretty well as his distribution task became much simpler which was to play the ball into Douzi. That kid is something else, receives the ball, looks up and plays it forward - brilliant. He just needs to be careful when he tries that on the edge of his own box or he will come unstuck at some point. Likewise Torreira is looking more and more at home with each game and is a pleasure to watch. Holding continues to improve and tbf Mustafi did quite well too. Big tests coming up against the victims, manure and the scum which will give us a better idea of how well we are doing.
