Looking forward to this. Fly out tomorrow afternoon.

First time to Lisbon and the weather is looking warm 8)

Im sure it will be a much changed 11 if not completely different but hopefully we can get a good result.

I will settle for 1-1.

I would hope that if fit he picks Cech, keeping Leno fresh for Palace on Sunday.

I'd also hope that Ozil is rested along with Laca, and we see Guendozi, PEA and ESR start.

the back four have to play, they still need a lot of work. this will be no easy game - we might need Laca and Iwobi from the Bench in the last 20.

we are top of our group on GD, we don't need to risk a loss in Lisbon.

That said, they've had a few dodgy results - losses against Braga and Portimonese (?) recently, and sit 5th in the CP.

2-1 to us - ESR and Iwobi.

I think this might be a more stern test of how we're coming along at the moment, yes Sporting aren't the best but they are pretty solid at home and a way better side than either Quarabag or the other lot we played. A win here is a definite boost going into CP at the weekend and with some tougher games coming up

I'm not advocating starting the same 11 as Monday night, but nor would I advocate many changes - dont undervalue the effect momentum can have for a team, and right now I would prefer fielding a stronger 11 than I usually would in this competition purely to keep the winning run going.

If cech is fit I hope he leaves him at home, or worst case scenario leaves him on the bench - Leno didnt start this season as number 1 and needs plenty of games to get some understanding and familiarity with his defence, and to get more sharpness to his game. Anyway, how much rest does a keeper need at this stage of the season ?
I NEVER want to see cech play in goals for us again unless it is in a charity or testimonial game - cech is hopefully the past and we need to move forward with leno and a younger number 2

I should add though that I am a little worried that this game could be the proverbial "after the lord mayor's show" - I am still in euphoric mood since Monday night and am finding it hard to even think about Thursday night's game, so I dunno how the players would be feeling now, and how hard it might be for them to get fired up for this

they're currently fifth in the portuguese league which is quite an achievement considering even benfica are shit these days - we really should be turning these lot over. don't want to overkill auba or laca but realistically we're twice as good with both of them on the pitch

would be happy to see iwobi, welbeck and ozil start in attack for this one. 2-0 away win :barscarf: 8)

I wouldn't!
Emery doesn't do draws - go for the win and keep the momentum going into Sunday!

3-0 win Bang Bang, Ramsey and Smith Rowe 8)

I like him, and the idea of him, but is he good enough for Arsenal if you remove the sentiment ?
