Arsenal's Emirates Stadium home had become a toxic place to be in the last days of Arsene Wenger's 22-year reign. ............
In a few short weeks, Emery's positive approach and perpetual motion body language has made the clouds roll away. Emirates Stadium is transformed, no longer a theatre of pain, but somewhere that once again resembles a football stadium.
Emery is a coach of real pedigree with concrete belief in his methods. The Spaniard won the Europa League three times in succession with Sevilla, including one against Klopp's Liverpool in 2016, and is a formidable tactical mind.
And yet plenty of observers suggested Emery's style of pushing full-backs high and playing out from the back might see Arsenal fall into the trap Klopp's Liverpool set with expertise using their powerful front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
It was a test of Emery and his players, of their resilience and self-belief - in many ways a test of what exactly he is trying to bring to Arsenal.
Emery fielded his big four attacking players Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. He was bold and was rewarded.
Lucas Torreira was outstanding in midfield and Arsenal were fearless in their approach, confronting Liverpool eye-to-eye.
Yes, there was a wobble after James Milner put Liverpool ahead but there was no sign of the capitulation we may have witnessed in the past. Arsenal kept at it and got a point.
It was also further evidence that this Arsenal side, while retaining the flowing game that was their trademark, also has stomach for the fight.
Arsenal have won more points from losing positions, eight, than any other team in the Premier League this season and while they have not led at half-time in any of their league games, they have scored 19 goals after the break - more than any other side.
It is early days and there will be bumps in the road as Emery imposes his new philosophy on Arsenal but if this was earmarked as the most severe examination of their credentials so far this season, they can be quietly satisfied with the results.

Good game, good performance but again the best part was the atmosphere. Just a different refreshing feel to things nowadays since you know who isn’t sat on the sidelines rocking backwards and forwards.

If we can win the next two, which are not easy games it will be a very impressive start to this season.
Impressed with the new boss so far; his made mistakes, but seems to get more right than wrong.

I hope our GK coaches can help Leno become a real class act because he's not quite there yet. I know it's early days for him and wish him good luck.
To be challengers for any of the top trophies you must have a top draw GK. We need a David Seaman.
Liverpool have got one , so have Utd.
Did Pat Jennings have any offspring?

a good quote from the BBC - you could hear the roars on TV :
As Arsenal tore into tackles in the first half, especially when Torreira and Granit Xhaka made their mark and Emery's side took the fight to Liverpool, the echoing catcalls of last season were forgotten, replaced by thunderous roars of approval and the occasional standing ovation in response to fierce physical exchanges.

Thought overall we were the better team and scared the shit out of them in midfield. We should have won it. And we would have won it if fucking Bellend could have finished the one Ozil put on a fucking plate for him...
Xhaka is not good enough for the PL but credit where it's due he was superb on Saturday as was Torreira. But when will we see anything like that again from Xhaka? Ozil quietly and superbly kept us on the front foot with some brilliant and subtle distribution of the dozens of balls won by Xhaka and Torreira. Micky Tarrogan was our worst player.
Laca's goal was onside for me. Read somewhere that the offside rule has changed from "movement towards ball" to "contact with ball" so if (IF) that is true then Mane's goal should have stood but if it's not true then haha fuck the cheating robbing mouser shitbag ubervictims.
Also not getting the mindless spunkfest over Comedy Iwobi. Comes on, pisses his first pass straight into touch 40 yards from the nearest Arsenal player, passes one admittedly superbly-weighted defence-splitting ball to Laca, then loses possession really cheaply two or three times in a row - but he did also make a couple of nothing runs down our wing that came to absolutely nothing. So that's one brilliant pass then.
That Mouser team will not win this PL. No chance. They run flat out at you with their front 3 for the opening 20-25 minutes and if they do not score a couple in that opening salvo they become bereft of any real ideas and fade in and out of the rest of the game. They have one decent (but error prone) defender in Van Djike (spelling?) and a manager with the actual tactical acumen of Robbie Savage.
Oh, and Leno was appalling for their goal.

We should have the armbands with little pictures of toilets on them next week... to show respects for the death of the new spurs stadium.
That poor stadium never stood a chance, it grew up in the wrong side of town.

I blame the parent. If you are parented by a cùnt you have no chance.AkneyGooner wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 10:07 pmWe should have the armbands with little pictures of toilets on them next week... to show respects for the death of the new spurs stadium.

Arsenal should hire St Bernard dogs to drool all over the armbands in honour of Harry Kane.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 6:54 amI blame the parent. The outright top keeper in the league is De Gea for me because of his consistency over time. There are question marks over the rest and Alison didn’t cover himself in glory last night against Redstar Belgrade. The basics of Leno’s game are good and we’ve the coaching setup now to allow him to grow into a top keeper. The performance of the defence and the goalkeeper will always be closely linked. Unlike the other top sides we are lacking a commanding CB and that will always create uncertainty in the goalkeeper’s mind.Midz wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 11:02 amI hope our GK coaches can help Leno become a real class act because he's not quite there yet.
