Yay!! Well done the Arsenal.

Very pleased with the win and 3rd place. Now let's try to stay there.

Get rid of Mustafi please.

Taylor is a seriously shite ref. I could see why the 1st goal was ruled out - maybe, but the 2nd one was absolutely ridiculous. He is easily one of the worst in the league and there are maybe 1 or two decent refs in the whole league. VAR will help next year, but there will still be contenious decisions.

A really solid performance despite Mustafi trying his best to f*ck things up. Elneny showing why he doesn't play with a pretty atrocious performance.

Ozil had a really good match as did Guendouzi (although caught on the ball in the 1st half).

Let's hope for the 3 points on Sunday. I remember that the 1st leg, Arsenal were lucky to win with a pretty tepid performance. I would be happy with a draw in that.

Also, let's hope for a Spuds grand opening with a giant L against Palace. How funny would that be...

Nice result, we desrved more though, still not sure what Laca's other one was disallowed for, didnt have commentary on. We did ok but Dozi worries me at the moment he gives the ball away far too often, he needs a break. Also Mustafi is a liability. Laca was much better than his one goal suggests but giving the Barcodes their due they were very good at smothering most things in their box quickly.

How many times do we break and find ourselves in the final third needing to whip the ball in to the middle only to find the ball is with Iwobi on the left and EVERY time the dozy cu.nt has to slow the play down to come back onto his right foot because he can't use his left peg to cross :banghead:

Interesting that the Geordies had done their homework on Guendouzi and were quick to try and nick the ball off him when he was receiving the ball facing his own goal. That nasty little habbit of letting the ball run on across him is fine if he knows whats in front of him but he is going to come unstuck if he doesn't wise up a bit.

Newcastle were very poor and I don't know why they bothered turning up tonight. They even bored their own fans into silence during the second half.

The biggest talking point of this game was the referee , and imagine having to say that when he didn't actually influence the result ?
He was awful throughout the game. Well deserved win but even though Newcastle were poor and unambitious at 1-0 there was that horrible feeling. Lacazette was great, his running and creating angles was excellent. Maitland Niles had a great game also. He may not end up in that role but he has improved so much. Ozil had some brilliant moments. Leno is too calm at times but its been a while since you could be as confident in an Arsenal keeper.
Guendouzi for all his effort and talent is not developing an instint for danger..He does get caught too often in possession. If he can be coached that aspect of the game he will be a fine player..Mustafi is a living nightmare, got a few tackles in but it is scary watching him go to ground. Iwobi was poor also, so predictable, Iwobi gets the ball , Iwobi loses the ball.
Good result, took advantage of Spuds slide ,on we go...

Very poor of Bill Leslie on commentary but more so Alan Smith for not acknowledging the seventh minute trubute to Rocky..It was loud and clear on my TV .

That was a decent performance last night, although it was against opposition that looked like they hadn't got off the bus. A few special mentions - for Ramsey, who has given everything despite the fact he is leaving in the summer, Ozil was excellent and AMN was brilliant in an attacking sense in the 2nd half. The only negative is Mustafi, who is beyond a liability and will cost us in at least one game between now and May. As for the ref, incompetent isn't the word, a fucking idiot and in usual FA fashion, his incompetence will go unpunished.

Alan Smith played with Rocky and didnt think it was worth bringing up :? I have said it before but Smith is an odd guy and for someone who should be a legend at the club, he seems really distant from the club.

If it was my decision elninny and xhaka would be sold this summer and we would push maitland-niles back into midfield instead of wasting the money buying another central midfielder. Torreira, guendozi and maitland-niles would be 3 strong options operating behind ozil in midfield next season
